ABSTRACT

Objectiv e To investigate the risk of coronary heart disease in urban residents of Handan City from 2017 to 2018, and to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 1 546 residents in an urban area of Handan were selected as the research subjects. According to coronary artery stenosis, they were divided into the coronary heart disease group and the non-coronary heart disease group. The physical indexes and laboratory test results of the two groups were collected. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used to analyze the risk factors of coronary heart disease. Results The correlation analysis of the results reveled that the increase of LDL-C level, smoking history, diabetes, hypertension and body mass index were significantly correlated with the incidence of coronary heart disease (P<0.05), which were the risk factors for the onset of coronary heart disease. Conclusion The incidence of coronary heart disease in urban residents of Handan from 2017 to 2018 was related to a variety of factors, among which the increase of LDL-C level, smoking history, diabetes, hypertension and body mass index were high risk factors for coronary heart disease. Quitting smoking, reducing the intake of high salt and sugar, and controlling the LDL-C level and body weight are important to reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the correlation between depression severity and neurocognitive function in patients with late-onset depression .@*Methods@#The patients with late-onset depression treated in Jinhua Second hospital from February 2015 to December 2017 were assigned into the mild, moderate and severe groups according to the severity of depression assessed by the Hamilton Depression Scale-17(HAMD-17). At the same time, some healthy persons were selected as the control group. Wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST),Verbal Fluency Test(VFT)and Stroop Test were carried out,and the scores of these tests were compared in the four groups. The correlations of WCST, VFT, Stroop Test and HAMD-17 scores were analyzed .@*Results@# There were 32,28,35 and 35 subjects involved in the mild, moderate, severe and control group, respectively. The subjects of the mild group, moderate group and severe group had more total errors, perseverative responses and perseverative errors than the control group, and less percent conceptual level responses than the control group (all P<0.05). The total errors, perseverative responses, perseverative errors and percent perseverative errors increased and the percent conceptual level responses decreased gradually with the severity of depression(all P<0.05). The correct numbers of Stroop-consistent group and VFT in the severe group were less than those in the control, mild and moderate group(all P<0.05),which was significantly different between the mild, moderate and control group (P>0.05). The HAMD-17 scores were negatively correlated with the correct numbers of Stroop congruent group(r=-0.448,P<0.001)and VFT(r=-0.401,P<0.001),and were positively correlated with perseverative responses in the WCST(r=0.784,P<0.001) .@*Conclusion@#The neurocognitive impairment in patients with late-onset depression aggravated with the severity of depression.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study the effect of miR-342-3p on the chemotherapy sensitivity in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).@*METHODS@#Tissue samples were collected from January 2011 to August 2013 samples in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital from a total of 32 triple-negative breast cancer patients with preoperative chemotherapy, with 5 cases of complete response (CR) and 27 cases of partial response (PR). We detected miR-342-3p expression of TNBC with RT-PCR. We transfected has-miR-342-3p mimic and inhibitor into breast cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 by lipofection transfection and set up negative control mim-NC and inhi-NC. Group of mimic, mim-NC, inhibitor and inhi-NC were cultivated with 2 μmol /L paclitaxel, cisplatin or 4 μmol/L doxorubicin for 48 h. The cell growth rates were measured by CCK8 reagent kit, and the cell apoptosis rate by flow cytometry.@*RESULTS@#The expressions of miRNA-342-3p in TNBC tissue of CR were higher than those of PR. The cell growth rates of mimic were lower and cell apoptosis rates were higher than those of min- NC after cultivating with paclitaxel or cisplatin for 48 h, with significant difference (P0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#TNBC with high expression of miR-342-3p are more sensitive to chemotherapy. miRNA-342-3p may regulate the sensitivity of breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 to chemotherapy drugs paclitaxel and cisplatin, but can not affect the chemotherapy sensitivity of doxorubicin.

ABSTRACT

Combined effects of ?-chlorohydrin and glycidol on the ultrastructure of theinitial segment and the tail region of the rat epididymis have been studied by ultra-thin sections under electronmicroscope.Individual effects of the both drugs on thesame tissues were also examined simultaneously. The major results are as follows.1.Numbers of swollen and degenerated mitochondria were observed in principalcells, clear cells, apical cells and basal cells of epididymal epithelium,as well as insmooth muscle cells of the ductus epididymidis and in endothelial cells of the capil-laries in epididymal interstitium during a period of 3~30 days after administrationof low dose of ?-chlorohydrin combined with glycidol(5 mg ?-chlorohydrin plus75mg glycidol/kg/day?2),which previously has been proved to be effective inmale rat antifertility.Additionally,Golgi vacuoles, pinocytotic vesicles, multivesicularbodies, stereocilia and smooth endoplasmic reticulum in the apical cytoplasm of someprincipal cells occasionally were found to decrease in number. No Morphologicalchanges of the nuclei were found in these affected cells. The number of morphologi-cally unchanged mitochondria appears to become more with extended time after drugswithdrawal.2.In the group treated with the large combined dose of the drugs(20 mg ?-chlorohydrin plus 100 mg glycidol/kg/day?2),apart from the changes mentionedabove, necrosis and exfoliation of some epididymal epithelial cells could be found. Some lesions of the sperm, such as the destruction of the cytoplasmic membrane, swelling of mitochondria and pyknosis of nucleus were present in a few specimenstaken from this group.3.Effects similiar to that of the combined use of the drugs were also found ingroups using ?-chlorohydrin or glycidol alone, but a less degree of lesions revealed. These observations suggested that the antifertile effects of ?-chlorohydrin andglycidol either used in combination or alone could result injury of mitochondria inepididymal epithelial cells, which should lead to the decrease of the function ofepididymis, hence to interfere with the maturation of the sperm in it.

ABSTRACT

It was reported that a complete antifertility action of alpha-chlorohydrin in combination with glycidol in male rats after a daily oral dose of 5mg/kg and 75mg/kg respectively for two days. Simultaneously some ultrastructural changes including mitochondrial swelling, atrophy of Golgi complex, decreasing in pinocytotic vesicles and stereocilia were found in principal cells of epididymis within 3 days after medication. In this experiment the animals received 3, 6 and 9 courses of treatment respectively, each course included two days of administration with a daily dose mentioned above and eight days of cessation of medication. The specimens of initial segment of epididymis, liver and kidney were taken at the end of 3 rd, 6 th and 9th courses of treatment for electron microscopy. The principal cells of initial segment of epididymis revealed a normal feature at the end of 3 rd and 9 th course of treatment. But at the end of 6 th course of treatment, the atrophy of Golgi complex and the decrease in stereocilia and pinocytotic vesicles were found in some principal cells.Any ultrastructural changs of sperms in the initial segment were not found by electron microscope. There was also mitochondrial changes with striking increase in the density of the matrix and reduction of size in some liver cells at the end of 6 th course of treatment, but not at the end of 3 rd or 9 th course of treatment. The epithelial cells of nephron in all the specimens revealed a normal ultrastructural feature. The results suggest that the ultrastructural changes of the principal cells and the liver cells induced by the mixture of the drugs could be recovered at the end of treatments.
