Studies on internal parasites of cattle egret and its role in the environmental pollution in some areas in Alexandria and Behera governorates

A total of 35 cattle egret were collected from different locations in Alexandria and Behera Governorates, were captured alive. These birds are subjected fro parasitological examination. Parasitological investigation revealed that eight species of parasites were identified. The infestation f Trematodes were Apharyngostrigea ibis [74.3%] Apatemon gracilis [37.1%] nephrostomum ramosum [25.7%] and, Heterophyes equalis [17.1%]. Nematodes were, Synhimantus invaginatus [94.3%] Porrocaecum wu [14.2%] and, Heterocheilus species [5.7%] while Acanthocephala was, Centrorhynchus conspectus [2.8%].
