Blood glucose level effect of captopril

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of captopril on glucose metabolism in mild to moderate hypertensive non-insulin dependent diabetic patients. One hundred and twenty patients were divided into two groups. Group A was given placebo of captopril and group B given captopril in a fixed dose of 25 mg twice daily for two weeks. Comparison of fasting blood glucose levels before and after the treatment showed a decrease in blood glucose level in patients treated with captopril
