ABSTRACT

A total of 100 Friesian cows from two farms at Giza governorate selected at random were classified on the basis of their teat shape. The results showed that cows with cylindrical teats had a significantly higher incidence of mastitis possibly due to a higher incidence of teat cup crawl. Also teats with a diameter range from 3 to 4 cm and a length from 9 to 10.5 cm showed 83.05% and 36.17% incidence of subclinical mastitis. The microbiological findings revealed that Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis were the most prevalent infective agents and were isolated from 45.78% and 16.87% of infected quarters respectively

ABSTRACT

In case of endometritis of the camels, the isolated microorganisms were E.Ceh, Merococci, Corynebacteria, Sarcina, Str. zymogenes, Anthracoids, Proteus spp., Str. durans, C. pygenes, Citrobacter, Staph, aureus, Gaffkya, Pasteurella multucida, Str. epidermidis and moulds. In case of pyometra, the isolated organisms were Staph epidermidis, Str. pyogene and Proteus spp. In case of macerated foetus, the isolated organism was Staph. epidermidis. In case of hydrobursitis, the isolated microorganisms were corynebacteria, E. coli and sarcina

ABSTRACT

Bacteria were isolated from apparently normal genitalia. as well as from genitalia with clear disorders. The incidence of bacterial isolates was lower during follicular than during the luteal phases of the estrous cycle. The most prevalent isolates in the follicular phase were Micrococci, Anthracoides and Escherichia coli, while in the luteal phase, Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococci, Sarcina, Streptococcus faecalis and Citrobacter were dominating. On the other hand, Anthracoides, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli. Streptococcus pyogenes, corynebacterium bovis and Corynebacterium pyogenes were isolated in cases of endometritis and pyometra
