ABSTRACT

Objetivou-se verificar a adesão ao tratamento farmacológicopelos pacientes que faziam uso de dois ou mais anti--hipertensivos. Estudo descritivo, quantitativo, realizado em um município do interior do Ceará. A amostra foi composta de 33 pacientes com hipertensão que faziam uso de dois ou mais anti-hipertensivos. Os dados revelam predomínio do sexo feminino (78,8%); estado civil casado(63,7%); idade entre 60 a 70 anos (27,3%); cor branca(50,0%); analfabetos (33,4%); aposentados (48,6%); rendade um salário mínimo (75,7%). Quanto ao tratamento farmacológico, 15 pacientes tomavam três comprimidos diários; 12 pacientes tomavam o medicamento de forma diferente da prescrição médica; quase todos os pacientesque tomavam cinco ou mais comprimidos não faziam uso da medicação conforme prescrito. Concluiu-se que, quanto maior o número de medicamentos prescritos, menor a ocorrência do seguimento correto do tratamento.


The objective of the study was to investigate patient compliance with a therapeutic regimen composed of two or more antihypertensive drugs. A descriptive, quantitative study was carried out in a municipal region in the interior of the State of Ceará. The sample was composed of 33 hypertensive patients, who had been prescribed two or more drugs. The study sample characteristics were: female (78.8%); married (63.7%); aged between 60 and 70 years (27.3%); white (50.0%); illiterate (33.4%); retired (48.6%); monthly income of one minimum wage (75.7%). With regard to the pharmacological treatment, the following characteristics were observed: 15 patients were on a regimen of 3 tablets a day; 12 patients were taking the drug in disagreement with the way it had been prescribed; almost all patients who took five or more pills a day, did not use the medication as prescribed. We concluded that the greater the number of prescribed drugs, the lower the compliance.
