Las representaciones sociales de los alumnos de psicología acerca de quehacer profesional del psicólogo / Social representations of psychology students regarding the psychology profession

La Representación Social se forma por sistemas cognitivos en los que se puede reconocer estereotipos, opiniones, creencias, valores y normas que suelen tener una orientación positiva o negativa sobre distintos objetos. Se constituye, a su vez, como sistemas de códigos, valores, lógicas clasificatorias, principios interpretativos y orientadores de las prácticas, que definen la llamada conciencia colectiva, la cual se rige con fuerza normativa, otorgando una visión del mundo. Es una forma de superar conflictos de larga data entre individuo y sociedad. Pensar la profesión del psicólogo refleja este entramado representacional. Es por ello que, a través de entrevistas a alumnos que estudian la carrera de Psicología, se explorará cuál es su representación, a la par que se hará un recorrido histórico de cómo se fue modificando dicho imaginario social en la profesión, dado por los cambios de las incumbencias del título y los procesos sociopolíticos vividos en nuestro país.

Social representations are formed by cognitive systems in which it´s possible to recognize stereotypes, opinions, beliefs, values and norms which usually have a positive or negative valence regarding different objects. They´re constituted, in turn, as code systems, values, classifying standards, interpretive principles and practice guidance that define the so–called collective conscience, which is governed by norm enforcement presenting a vision of the world. They set the standards for overcoming long–standing conflicts between individuals and society. Consideration of the psychologist profession implies this representational framework. From this standpoint, interviews to students who study psychology are undertaken, in order to explore their representation of the profession. We also examine how this representation of the profession changed over time in the social imaginary, given the changes of title incumbencies and the social–political processes lived in our country.
