ABSTRACT

The female infant in this case study was admitted to the hospital 4 hours after birth due to preterm birth and respiratory distress. On the third day after birth, peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC) catheterization was performed. On day 42, thrombus was found at the entrance of the right atrium from the inferior vena cava during a cardiac ultrasound, and it was considered to be related to PICC placement. Low-molecular-weight heparin and urokinase were given. After two weeks of treatment, ultrasonic monitoring showed thrombus shrinkage. No bleeding or pulmonary embolism occurred during the treatment. The patient discharged after improvement. This article mainly introduces a multidisciplinary team approach to diagnosis and treatment of PICC-related thrombosis in neonates.

ABSTRACT

To analyze the research status of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer at home and abroad in the past 45 years by using bibliometric and scientific knowledge map methods, and explore the development trends in future. The literature of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer was retrieved from CNKI and Web of Science (WOS) till December 31, 2020 since the database establishment, and CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to perform visual map analysis through cooperation network, keyword co-occurrence, keyword timeline, keyword emergence and other methods. Totally, 1 585 literature in CNKI and 1 564 literature in WOS were included, and the annual publication amount showed a fluctuating upward trend. Cooperation between countries was centered on China and the United States, and there was relatively little cooperation among different institutions. The analysis of keyword and cited literature showed that researches focused on the control of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy on cancer complications and adverse reactions of western medicine. The main research types in WOS were systematic review and randomized controlled trial (RCT), while in CNKI was review, depth studies on mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer were rare. The concern about the quality of life of cancer patients may become research emphasis in the field of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer in future, and the research scope tends to integrative and holistic oncology.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the differences of temperament characteristics between children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and normal children, and to provide evidence for early detection of ASD children and the development of personalized treatment plans.@*Methods@#In this case-control study, we enrolled 129 ASD children and 129 normal children aged 3-7 years. The Behavioral Style Questionnaire (BSQ) scale was used to assess the temperament.@*Results@#ASD children got higher scores in terms of "activity level", "withdrawal", "adaptability", "emotional nature", "persistence", and "response threshold" temperament dimensionality scores(P<0.05), and lower scores in terms of "rhythmical", "response intensity" temperament dimensionality scores than normal children(P<0.05). However, there was no significant difference in "attention dispersiveness" between ASD group and control group(P>0.05). Among the children in the ASD and control group, the proportion of each temperament type was "easy to raise temperament type" (41.8% vs 62.8%), "partially easy to raise temperament type" (31.8% vs 27.9%), "partially difficult to raise temperament type" (17.1% vs 6.2%), “slow-up-towarm temperament type" (7.7% vs 2.3%) and "difficult to raise temperament type" (1.6% vs 0.8%).Statistical analysis showed that the rate of "easy to raise temperament type" was lower than that in normal children(P<0.05), while the rates of "partially easy to raise temperament type", "partially difficult to raise temperament type", "difficult to raise temperament type", and "slow-up-to-warm temperament type" in ASD children were higher(P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#There was significant difference in temperament characteristics between ASD children and normal children. The evaluation of temperament type contributes to early detection of ASD children and provides a reference for their behavioral correction.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the level of vitamin B12 in children with autism spectrum disorder(ASD), and provide a theoretical basis for early detection and drug treatment of ASD.@*Methods@#A total of 89 ASD cases and 89 matched controls were collected. The levels of urinary methylmalonic acid (MMA) and serum vitamin B12, Transcobalamin Ⅱ (TCN2) were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TCN2 gene rs1801198 was genotyped by SNaPshot.@*Results@#The serum levels of vitamin B12 and TCN2 in children with ASD [(369.08±131.88)pmol/L, (1.56±0.16)ng/mL] were significantly lower than those in the control group[(485.16±200.33)pmol/L, (1.71±0.17)ng/mL](t=-5.47, -5.92, P<0.05). The level of MMA in urine of ASD children [(758.97±106.96) ng/mL] was significantly higher than that in the control group[(693.66±121.72)ng/mL](t=3.94, P<0.05); The genetic polymorphism of rs1801198 locus was not associated with the risk of ASD(P>0.05), and there was no significant correlation with serum TCN2 level(F=1.16, P>0.05).@*Conclusion@#ASD children are at a potential deficiency of vitamin B12 and should strengthen their nutritional interventions while conducting ASD interventions.

ABSTRACT

Orjective:To obtain recombinant CHO-K1 with expressing sPDGFR? and to identify the biological activities of sPDGFR? secreted in non-serum medium. Methods:Recombinant human sPDGFR? expression vector pIRES-Neo3-sPDGFR?-Fc was constructed and then transfected into CHO-K1 cells by using LipofectamineTM 2000.After screened with G418 in 8 weeks, some monoclone cells were selected randomly to amplify in 96-well-plate to 24-well-plates,and then to identify positive cell clones by RT-PCR.Furthermore,the candidate cell clones were test by Real-Time PCR and Western blot assays.Finally,anti-proliferation activities of the expressed sPDGFR? were analyzed by MTT.Results:sPDGFR?-Fc was cloned into pIRES-Neo3 correctly. The sPDGFR?-Fc expression level in recombinant CHO-K1 cell clones were concordant in between Realtime PCR and Western blot assay.sPDGFR?-Fc obtained from cultured non-serum medium of positive CHO-K1 could significantly inhibit proliferation of vascular endothelial cell. Conclusion:Successed to select recombinant CHO-K1 cell lines with high expressed sPDGFR?-Fc.The sPDGFR?-Fc can inhibit the cell proliferation significantly and it means sPDGFR?-Fc might be a new anti-cancer drug in the future.
