ABSTRACT

Objective:To measure the mesio-distal interradicular space of posterior teeth at different height by CBCT.Methods:60 subjects with skeletal Class Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ patterns were included(n =20).From the distal of first premolar to the mesial of second molar, the mesiodistal width at the height of 2,4,6,8 and 10 mm from the alveolar crest were measured and analysed. Results:The interradicular distance was larger than 3 mm within 4-10 mm height in maxilla and in mandible. The maxillary mesiodistal width values measured between the first premolar and second premolar in skeletal Class Ⅰ and Class Ⅱ pattern was greater than that in Class Ⅲ(P <0.05) and there was no significant difference in other zones. In the mandible, the values of skeletal Class Ⅲ pattern were greater than those of skeletal Class Ⅰ and Class Ⅱ pattern(P <0.05).Conclusion:The suitable interradicular zone is within 4-8 mm to the alveolar crest between the second premolar and first molar for miniscrew implant placement in maxilla, and over 4 mm between the first molar and second molar in mandible. The difference of interradicular spaces in sagittal skeletal features is existed.

ABSTRACT

The development and compilation of Evidence-based Guidelines of Clinical Practice with Acupuncture and Moxibustion: Adult Bronchial Asthma are introduced from three aspects, named the guideline methodology, the guideline structure and the guideline content. Based on the acupuncture-moxibustion practice and clinical research, the evidence-based medicine method is adopted. During the development and compilation of the guideline, the characteristics and advantages of acupuncture and moxibustion are specially considered in the treatment of this disease; the latest optimum evidences at home and abroad, experts' experience and patients' value are closely integrated with each other. Additionally, the worldwide accepted assessments of evidence quality and the recommendation (GRADE system) are combined with the clinical evidences of the ancient and modern famous acupuncture-moxibustion experts, and the clinical research evidences are with the experts' consensus to the large extent. The purpose of the guideline is to provide the maximal guidance to the clinical physicians.

ABSTRACT

This paper is aimed to explore the effects of mechanical stimulation on proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts. Cultured MG-63 osteoblast-like cells were strained by the four-point bending cell mechanics loader. In the study, we observed the effects of different magnitudes and duration of mechanical strain on the markers of proliferation and differentiation in osteoblasts. The protein levels and Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity were determined by western blot and alpha-nitrophenyl phosphate assay respectively. The mineralization nodules were stained using Alizarin Red-S method. We found: (1) the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), ALP activity in strained group were significantly increased compared to those in the control group, but the role did not increase with the increase of the magnitude of the stimulation; and (2) under appropriate stimulation (2000 microstrain), the expression of PCNA, COL I protein and ALP activity increased gradually with the increase of loading time, and appropriate stimulation promoted the formation of mineralization nodules. It indicated that appropriate mechanical stimulation could promote proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the response inhibition ability of oppositional defiant disorder symptoms children. Methods Subjects were 27 oppositional defiant disorder symptoms children and 27 normal children. They were asked to complete the stop signal task,go/no go task and the Simon task. Results The delay time of stop reaction (SOA,(260.27 ±69.12)ms) and go reaction time( (554.31 ±55. 81 )ms)of the oppositional defiant disorder symptoms children were shorter than the control group, the difference was significant (P<0. 05). However, the stop reaction and interference control ability were no significant difference between these two groups. Conclusion Oppositional Defiant Disorder symptoms children's poor prepotent response inhibition ability is cognitive mechanism of their impulsive behaviors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate cyclic mechanical stimulation on expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in osteoblast-like cells (MG63) and to explore the rote of MAPK involved in the process. Methods Expressions of CTGF protein and mRNA in MG63 cells were detected by Western blot and RT-PCR,respectively. Phosphorylation levels of p38, ERK, JNK were examined by Western blot. Results Cyclic mechanical stimulation upregulated expressions of CTGF protein and mRNA. The levels reached a maximal response of 2-3 fold after 3-6 h. ERK and JNK signal pathways were activated by cyclic mechanical stimulation, the phosphorylated proteins increased within 10 min of stretch, phosphorylated ERK reached maximal levels by 60 min of stretch, phosphorylated JNK reached maximal levels by 15-30 min of stretch, but not for p38 signal pathway.Only the inhibitior of JNK signal pathway (SP600125) markedly suppressed stretch-induced CTGF expression, meanwhile the inhibitors of ERK (PD98059) and p38 (SB203580) did not show such effect. Conclusion Cyclic mechanical stimulation upregulates CTGF expression via JNK-dependent pathway in MG63 cells.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo discuss the pre-surgical orthodontic treatment of skeletal class II patients with gingiva smile corrected by AMSO.

METHODSWe analyzed the clinical features of 20 skeletal class II patients treated by AMSO combined with Orthodontic treatment and evaluated the effects of AMSO by means of cephalometric analysis.

RESULTSAfter the AMSO treatment, ANB angle, the height of anterior maxilla, the protrusion of the upper anterior teeth, and the of A point had reduced significantly (P < 0.05). After AMSO, the appearance of patients had been improved markedly.

CONCLUSIONSAMSO can correct the protrusion of the maxilla and gingival smie efficiently. The anchorage of molars should be controlled carefully. The anterior part of the upper arch should be expended orthodontically to make arch relationship. Extract the upper bicuspid half a year before the surgery was recommended. When necessary, genioplasty could be performed.

ABSTRACT

UNLABELLEDTo evaluate the effects of preadjusted bracket base shape, the morphology of tooth surface where bracket locates, and the suitability relevant to location of bracket on the preadjusted edgewise appliance technique. 1 vertical curve and 3 horizontal curves of the clinical crown surface of anterior teeth and bicuspid teeth were measured with the precise contour instrument on the 60 plaster models of the subjects who have normal occlusion in Sichuan province. It was found that variation of identical curve exists at the different heights between the teeth and between the individuals; the surface of the central zone of tooth-crown gradually protrudes from incisors to bicuspid teeth in the vertical direction, and the mesial contour of cuspid is more prominent than the distal in the horizontal direction.

CONCLUSIONThe 4 mm X 3 mm contour of the vestibular central zone of identical tooth-crown in different individuals is fairly stable; it is suitable for the location of preadjusted brackets. The vertical shifts of brackets could change the preadjusted torque value and the design of cuspid bracket should have the distinction between mesial and distal shape.
