ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigate the effect of vision therapy system 4D combined with stereoscopic 3D technology training for the treatment of amblyopia.METHODS: Prospective study. A total of 102 children with amblyopia who attended the clinic from January 2018 to January 2022 were selected, and they were randomly assigned into two groups by computer, with 51 cases in each group. Control group received stereoscopic 3D technology training, while observation group participated in vision therapy system 4D on the basis of control group. Then the overall effective rate, binocular visual function, spherical equivalent(SE), axial length(AL), mean corneal curvature(Km), best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and visual evoked potential were compared between two groups.RESULTS: The overall efficacy rate was 94.1% in observation group, which was obviously higher than control group(74.5%; P<0.05). The improvement in binocular vision parameters simultaneous perception, total fusion, and stereoacuity were all more remarkable in observation group than in control group(P<0.05). The △SE, △AL and △Km yielded no statistical difference between two groups(P>0.05). The latency of two spatial frequencies(1°grid and 15'grid)showed a decline in both groups, and the decline was more notable in observation group than in control group(P<0.05). In both groups, BCVA improved, and the improvement was more significant in observation group compared with control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Application of vision therapy system 4D combined with stereoscopic 3D technology training for amblyopia can effectively ameliorate the visual acuity, promote the reconstruction of simultaneous perception, total fusion, and stereoacuity without additional risk of myopic shift, and improve visual pathway function in children.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics, pathogenic causes and treatment outcomes of acute kidney injury (AKI) in very old patients in order to improving the diagnosis and treatment. Methods 39 AKI patients aged ≥80 years in the department of geriatric medicine of our hospital were enrolled and followed up for 3 months.Clinical and laboratory data were analyzed and the pathogenic causes as well as the treatment outcomes were summarized. Results Among the 39 very old patients,31(79.5%) were male,8(20.5%) were female, and the mean age was (93.5±4.6) years.33 (84.6%)patients had chronic kidney diseases. The pathogenic causes of AKI were mainly as follows:urological infections (71.8%),blood volume deficiency (48.7%),cardiac dysfunction (23.1%) and hypotension (15.4%).2 to 4 pathogenic causes were co present in 64.1% patients.Renal function was improved and recovered in 69.2 % patients and the death rate was 25.6% after treatment. The main causes of death were septic shock (30.0%),multiple organ failure (20.0%),massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage (20.0%) et al.Conclusions Most of the very old patients may suffer from AKI on the basis of chronic kidney disease.AKI is often induced by multiple pathogenic causes. The main factors leading to AKI are urological infections, followed by blood volume deficiency and cardiac dysfunction. Most patients with AKI can recover after the precipitating factors are removed and supportive treatments are administered in time.Septic shock is the main cause of death.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the situation of blood pressure control and the major factors influencing the programs among those hypertensive patients living in the communities from different parts of China. Methods A protocol of community-based standardized blood pressure management was developed based on the current Chinese guideline for prevention, treatment of hypertension.Grass-roots caretakers from community health service centers across China were trained under the requirement of this protocol to manage the hypertensive patients. In this study, the hypertensive patients who had been registered in the project centers from Beijing,Hebei,Gansu,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Guangdong provinces, were selected as the study subjects, and the baseline data for these patients was analyzed. Results By the end of 2010,a total of 242 182 patients were registered. The mean age was 61.0 ± 10.5,with 48.5% of them being males. The overall control rate of blood pressure was 27.4%.The control rate was significant lower among patients who were in lower age group, being male, with higher BMI,smoking, drinking or with more salt consumption. However, the control rate was significant higher among those patients who had family history of hypertension, always undertook physical exercise or receiving medical treatment. Conclusion The blood pressure control rate for community hypertensive patients in China was still in a relatively low level.Standardization management measures should be strengthened so as to improve the rate of control on high blood pressure.

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the effects related to community-based standardized blood pressure management programs on the control of hypertension. Methods A protocol of community-based standardized blood pressure management was developed based on the current Chinese guideline for prevention, treatment of hypertension. Grass-roots caretakers from community health service centers across China were trained using this protocol and required to manage hypertensive patients according to the protocol. Patients were treated on therapeutic life style change or/and medication, and followed up based on the criteria of risk stratification. The control rate of hypertension was evaluated after 1 year. Effect of intervention (EI) was estimated as '1 year rate (mean)' minus the number showed at the baseline. Results By the end of 2008, a total of 29 411 hypertensive patients (47.2% for male, mean age 61.4+10.9 years) with full information had been under management for one year according to the protocol. Among all patients, 8.9% were classified as under low risk, 50.8% as moderate risk and 40.3% as high and very high risk showed in baseline data. After standardized management, the EI of smoking, drinking and systolic/diastolic blood pressure were -7.1% (P<0.05) , -7.3% (P<0.05) , and-14.8/-8.3 mm Hg (P<0.05) , respectively. However, EI of overweight/obesity was 0.3% (P>0.05). For all patients, the control rate rose to 74.7%,with EI as 53.1%, and all of the sub-groups, including age, risk stratification, had significant increases. The longer the management was under, the higher the control rate was seen. Results from the multivariate logistic regression showed that older age, male and having higher blood level were adverse factors for the undertaking the control and management programs of hypertension. Conclusion Results from our study showed that standardized management could significantly improve the program on the control of hypertension at the community level, in China.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To establish HPLC method for the determination of the content of paeoniflorin in Shenshao?gankang oral liquid.METHODS:Paeoniflorin was separated on Kromasil C 18 ;methanol-0.05mol/L KH 2 PO 4 solution-avantin(60∶173∶4,which was adjusted to pH=4.0with acetic acid)was taken as the mobile phase with a flow rate at1.0ml/min and detection wavelength at230nm.RESULTS:Good linear relationship was achieved when the detection concentration range of peoniflorin was0.027~0.230mg/ml(r=0.9999);The average recovery of peoniflorin was100.97%(RSD=1.28%,n=5). CONCLUSION:The method was simple, rapid, precise and reproducible, which can be used as the quality control of Shenshaogankang oral liquid.
