ABSTRACT

Sacrococcygeal teratoma in newborns are tumors that contain tissue from the three germ cell llayers. Many theories explain their origia and although many cases have been reported, rupture during birth of the child is a rare event. Rupture of this tumor poses a emergency situation due to the high risk of hemorrhage, sepsis and fetal death. Prenatal diagnosis is helpul in preventing rupture and its associated complications
