Pharmacological effect of nabayas louha an ayurvedic haematinic preparation

The pharmacological effects of Nabayas Louha [NBL], an Ayurvedic haematinic preparation was investigated in animal models. It was observed that NBL possesses a significant level of Central Nervous System [CNS] depressant activity in that it significantly decreased the spontaneous motor activity, and also lowered the exploratory behavior of the treated animals in hole board, open field and climbing out test. NBL also exhibits significant effects on pentobarbital induced narcosis.
