ABSTRACT

Introduction: Hospital information system is comprehensive software to integrate patient information in order to send and exchange information between departments and other medical centers. Since according to the users' needs, some changes such as modifications, improvements or conformity to changes in the organization are applied and also some requirements and performance characteristics are added in these systems, they should be constantly assessed and ranked. The aim of this research is to rank hospital information systems

Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in 2013. Research population was hospital information systems of the country. The sample size was 16 companies. Data were collected from check lists which included information related to research purposes, and its validity was confirmed by experts. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and SPSS software

Results: In the overall rating of hospital information systems, "Rayavran" with 72.7% ranked the highest and "BuAli designers" with 47.1% ranked the lowest. In rating functional requirements, only three softwares were efficient. Most of these systems were efficient regarding technical requirements and the ability to use the capabilities of the vendor of the systems, and most hospital information systems were inefficient in improving the quality of patient care

Conclusion: In general, hospital information systems in Iran had a moderate performance regarding the studied requirements and this requires system managers and designers` consideration and attention

ABSTRACT

Flourishing capacity of information technologies for collecting, storage and transmission unheard of amount of information creates a great deal of concerns for patients. Patients are worried over the access of numerous people to their electronic health records. To determine the security requirements of electronic health records for Iran. This descriptive study was carried out in 2007. Security requirements of electronic health records gathered from comparative study performed in Australia, Canada and England countries followed by designing the initial model. The final model was prepared through gathering the information by questionnaire and the use of Delphi Technique. The values under 50 percent were eliminated from the model and those equal or higher than 75 percent added to the model. The proposed model for Iran includes the requirements for organizing information, information classification, human resources, communication and operation management, and access control security. A comprehensive model of electronic health records security requirements was designed for Iran. The approval of this model by authorities for protecting the electronic health information security is recommended

In this descriptive-analytic study, 384 patients or their relatives were interviewed using a questionnaire. Data analysis was done through descriptive and analytic statistics such as: percent, means, SD, t-test, X2 and ANOVA test. Totally 46.2% the consumers' perceived services of admission unit good. They were completely satisfied with the waiting time [8.03A1.43 points of 10], and with the staff behavior [15.78A2.9 points of 20]. ABSTRACT

Introduction: In a fast growing organization which has activities in several geographical locations, efficient utilization of expert knowledge is a challenge. Many researches have begun to distinguish between conceptual use of knowledge and instrumental use or changes in behavior and practice. So, one central question is whether the approaches do support the motivation of people to use the knowledge and the next point of interest is about knowledge utilization

Objective: This study was conducted to review knowledge utilization process to recognize and compare current models of knowledge utilization in medical sciences

Materials and Methods: Systematic review of articles was applied on basis of Internet resources covering knowledge utilization disseminated between 1997-2003

Results: Utilization may be conceptual, instrumental or even strategic. There are different models of knowledge utilization in medical sciences: Estabrooks, Behavioral, COHRED, Ace star, CURN Stetler CCI and Iowa. Comparing these models based on five factors implied that COHRED model and CCI model are more complete than the other models

Conclusion: Knowledge utilization means knowledge reception, perception and influence on receivers' action. The produced knowledge of medical sciences is useful provided it could be applied in the process of health development
