Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of multimedia based education and traditional methods on life quality of hemodialysis patients

Methods: In this quasi- experimental study, all of the patients [n=62] who referred to four hemodialysis centers in Tabriz City from May to Sept 2013 were divided randomly in tow groups, intervention and control. Quality of short life questionnaire [Sf-36] were completed before and three months after the educational program. The intervention group navigated their way through the Research Development Hemodialysis and Essentials Care Application using laptop during their hemodialysis. The control group received the same content in the traditional way [face to face education and pamphlet]. Data were analyzed by conducting the independent- and the paired samples t, the Chi-square, and ANOVA tests

Results: There were no statistically significant difference between the study groups in pre- and post-education life quality mean scores, but inter group comparison findings showed that all post-education quality of life scales mean scores had changed statistically in both the intervention and control groups except Apperception general health scale [p>0/05]

Samples of 12 teaching hospitals and in different shifts were selected and questionnaires were distributed and collected at nurses rest time. Data was analyzed by SPSS-16. Results showed that 88 percent of nurses were women and 92 percent had a bachelor's degree. Also they age range was between 57-23 and 48 /3 percent of them worked in medicalsurgical ward. Results indicated that nurses had a moderate intent to leave their work. In addition, between age with intent to leave [r= - 0/114] and work experience[r= - 0/158] with turnover, was a negative significant correlation. In addition, there was a significant correlation between organizational level and intent to leave [P= 0/007], shift and intent to leave [P = 0/001]. ABSTRACT

Optimizing the quality of health care is essential for delivery of effective, efficient and cost-benefit professional health services to people and communities. As nurses are the largest groups among health care professionals and are legally liable and morally responsible for their care, so their perspectives on quality of nursing care is very important. The purpose of this qualitative study was to define and describe "quality of nursing care" from the perspective of nurse experts and clinical nurses. In this qualitative study, data were collected in two phases [10 individual interviews and 5 focus group discussions]. Fifty-four nurses and experts participated by purposeful sampling. Data analysis was conducted by latent content analysis to achieve a definition of nursing care quality. After taking into consideration different statements from experts in nursing and clinical nurses' perspectives on quality, we arrived at the final defamation of optimal health care: "delivery of safe care based on nursing standards which eventuates client satisfaction". Also, both participating groups emphasized on collaborating with social workers in health care [teamwork]. Findings revealed that in nurses' perspectives on quality definition, two important aspects that have been taken into consideration were: "standard of care" and "client satisfaction", Also coordinating organizational and socio-cultural workers in delivering quality nursing care was deemed to be important
