ABSTRACT
48 patients with chronic liver diseases and 10 normal controls have been studied for gall bladder wall thickening, S. albumin and portal hypertension. This study showed that 87.5% of patients with chronic liver diseases had thickened gall bladder wall [.3mm]. This thickening was statistically higher in patients with hypoalbuminemia, portal hypertension and ascites 96.8% of patients with hypoalbuminemia, 68% of patients with portal hypertension and 100% of patients with ascites showed thickened gall bladder wall. Also there was a positive correlation between the gall bladder wall thickness and the degree of both hypoalbuminaemia and portal hypertension
