ABSTRACT
Although there has been interest, within the past few decades, in palladium [II] chelates with pyridylazo dyes from the standpoint of quantitative determination, little has been reported concerning the relation between the structure of the ligands and the stability of their metal chelates. The applications of pyridylazo dyes in analytical chemistry were mainly devoted to the use of 2-pyridylazo dyes but the use of 3-pyridylazo does in chemical analysis as yet is very limited. The present work comprises Spectrophotometric studies of Pd [II] chelates with some 3-pyridylazo dyes [I] with the aim of correlating the stability constants and the ionization constants, pKa, of the ligand with the molecular structure. The micro determination of Pd [II] is also investigated
