ABSTRACT

Lactic dehydrogenase [LDH], aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, acid and alkaline phosphatase] and some organic constituents [fructose, total proteins, total lipids and ascorbic acid] were assessed in 200 seminal plasma samples [100 from native breed bulls and 100 from buffalo bulls]. The results showed that there are insignificant differences in the enzymatic activities of lactic dehydrogenase [LDH], aspartate-aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in the seminal plasma of the two species. However, the acid and alkaline phosphatase activities of buffalo bulls seminal plasma were significantly higher [P <0.05] compared to that of the native bulls. A significant increase [P <0.05] in the total proteins and fructose content of the native bulls seminal plasma than of the buffalo bulls. However, no significant differences was traced in total lipids or ascorbic acid content in the seminal plasma of the two species

ABSTRACT

Many species of moulds and yeasts could be isolated from the cervical mucus of infertile cows. Moulds isolated belonged to the genera of Aspergillus [20.8%], Penicillium [10.8%], Mucor [10%], Rhizopus [5.8%], Alternaria [4.2%], Scopulariopsis [4.2%], Curvularia [2.5%] and Cladosporum [1.7%]. Yeasts isolated were C and ida [15%], Torulopsis [6.7%], Trichosporon [3.4%] and Rhodotorula [1.7%]

ABSTRACT

Ovariohysterectomy was performed in order to collect the gravid uteri and their contents from ten healthy Egyptian Baladi goats during different stages [early, mid and late]. The removed whole uterus was weighed and the ovarian structures were observed. The weight of the fetal membranes was taken and the placentomes number, size and arrangement in the gravid and nongravid uterine horns were studied morphologically and histologically. The feti were collected and their location in right and left uterine horns were assessed. The weight, Crown-Rumplength [CRL] and umbilical cord dimensions of each fetus were estimated
