ABSTRACT
Dementia is an acquired and sustained deterioration of intellectual in an otherwise alert person. Alzheimer's disease is one cause of dementia, clinically defined as a process of insidious onset and progressive deterioration when other causes for dementia have been excluded. Clinical and neuropsychological testing may have equal status for accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Early recognition is important since the new treatments are most effective in mildly affected patients. the lack of a definitive biological marker makes it imperative to supplement clinical diagnosis which multiple other tests, such as genetic apoliopoprotein ellele 4, magnetic resonance imaging and electroencephalographyphy
