ABSTRACT

In the daily practice of a dental office, we often come across pathologies which are difficult to diagnose and which may not be of dental origin. If we consider that some of the apparently unrelated signals and symptoms can be the result of a syndrome, it may become easier to reach a diagnosis. This article alms at proposing a set of diagnosis criteria for Eagle's syndrome, as well as making the pathology known to health care professionals in general. It is meant to provide both dental surgeons and other health care professionals with a multidisciplinary overview of the condition and therefore help them to correctly confirm a diagnosis for Eagle's syndrome, preventing it from being misdiagnosed or confused with other pathologies.
