ABSTRACT
This present work was made in the women police station of Uberlândia, MG. During two years almost a hundred abused were interviewed. These data collection show the relation between domestic violence against woman, her age, the beginning of conflicts, her family structure and her husband's family structure, the type of aggression and the presence of alcoholism in the family. This survey proposes to search the similarities between these women to construct a profile to serve as an aid for professional to assist these women face the abusive situation as well as to prevent violence. The results of the analysis of the interviews show a similarity in the women life history. It is common the presence of alcoholism on their family as well as the existence of abuse relationship in her family of origin. This confirms the Robin Norwood's Theory described in "Women that love too much"...

Neste estudo os autores examinaram, de forma integrada, diversos postulados concernentes ao processo de categorização social. Trinta estudantes universitários (15 de Psicologia e 15 de Economia), distribuídos ao acaso para três condições de estudo foram instados, através de instruções contidas nos instrumentos, a criar categorias profissionais de inclusão e contraste, a apontar as suas características, os motivos de suas criações, as suas diferenças, os seus protótipos e o grau de tipicidade de cada profissional categorizado. As respostas livres, submetidas à análise de conteúdo morfo-sintático, não apresentam diferenças significativas entre psicólogos e economistas. A categorização temática revelou a utilização de temas divergentes entre os dois grupos de estudantes. Estes resultados, bem como aqueles referentes à indicação de protótipos e à atribuição do grau de tipicidade do profissional, foram analisados e discutidos de forma integra à luz dos postulados teóricos referentes aos fenômenos de categorização, identificação e representação social
