ABSTRACT
The technique of external rhinoplasty provides excellent exposure and enables the surgeon to work with better control and greater confidence. Extra or unwanted tissue can be excised judiciously and remaining tissue can be repositioned with great accuracy. These advantages are highly appreciated by a surgeon when dealing with a traumatized, twisted or highly deformed nose. This technique provides an optimal opportunity for teaching as every step of the procedure can be demonstrated with considerable ease. Fifty-three patients were operated via this approach over a 7-year period; gratifying cosmetic and functional results were obtained without complication
