ABSTRACT
Definidos como sistemas de crenças socialmente compartilhadas a respeito das características homogêneas de indivíduos de uma determinada categoria social, cujos fundamentos são encontrados nas teorias explicativas a respeito dos fatores que determinam ospadrões de conduta, os estereótipos ocupam um importante papel na psicologia social. O presente artigo possui o duplo objetivo de evidenciar que os estereótipos não são aplicadosexclusivamente às categorias sociais, bem como submeter à prova empírica um modelo explicativo dos estereótipos elaborado a partir de duas dimensões, a entitatividade e as teorias explícitas. Para teste do modelo foi elaborado, e apresentado, um cenário experimental,construído no ambiente virtual, mediante o uso da plataforma EF Survey. Os resultados indicam uma boa consistência interna do modelo e sugerem a necessidade e incluir ajustes na definição de estereótipos.
Defined as systems of social shared beliefs about homogeneous characteristics of individuals of a specific social category, and whose fundamentals are found in the explanatory theories on the factors that determine the conduct standards, the stereotype concept plays an important role in social psychology. This article has objectives of both, to evidence thatstereotypes are not exclusively applicable to social categories, as well as to submit an explanatory model of the stereotypes elaborated based on two dimensions - entitativity and the explicittheories - to empirical proof. To test this model, an experimental scenery, built in a virtual environment, through the use of EF Survey platform was elaborated and presented. The results indicate a good intern consistence of the model and suggest the necessity of including adjusts in the definition of stereotypes.
