ABSTRACT

Objective: As part of the revision on remuneration for medical services in 2012, a new system has been implemented to allow an additional fee for inpatient pharmaceutical services to be added to the basic hospitalization fee.
Methods: We at Kitasato University Kitasato Institute Hospital satisfied all institutional requirements for the new system and were preparing to introduce it from April 2012; however, there was concern about the increased workload due to the additional work of preparing diaries for pharmaceutical services used in calculating the additional fee.
Results: We therefore developed a database titled Diary System for Inpatient Pharmaceutical Services for the preparation and management of diaries. This system allows pharmacists from various divisions to enter data simultaneously and realizes the unified management of records of services performed at various places in the pharmacy.
Conclusions: Since entered data are automatically reflected in the inpatient pharmaceutical service diary and the monthly summary, an advantage compared to paper diaries in terms of efficiency may be expected. Furthermore, the monthly summary of the number of service hours by ward and service type may also be used for service analysis.

ABSTRACT

This article, of exploratory character, had the purpose to perform a bibliographical review of studies published on the Therapeutic Residential Service (SRT) in Brazil, which is one of the devices of the National Politics of Attention to Mental Health. To reach this goal, a thorough review at Central Library of the State University of Maringá, and at national websites that gather official documents and scientific publications of several areas, was carried out. With an analysis of obtained results, it was verified that the Southeast Area is the one which possesses the greatest number of published scientific works (61.54 percent); the scientific works regarding SRTs are in its majority of psychologists' authorship (51.28 percent); the majority of the studies found are reports of experience, some of them positive, others not. Finally, the publications on SRT, among other possibilities, allow analyzing the operation of the device, getting to know the existent concerns, questions and answers that are addressed, as well as the limits of this device.

ABSTRACT

The effectiveness and persistence of Ectofarma* in the control of B. microplus and D. hominis larvae were evaluated. Initially, the effect on estimated reproduction and percentage of reduction was determined by dipping female ticks in 1:400 diluted solution of the product. The percentage of reduction was 95.34, and the reduction on hatchability of larvae was 100%. Then, in a field trial the product, in the same dilution, was handsprayed over a group of nine bovines. The number of ticks on treated and untreated animals were counted on days 0 ,1 ,2 ,3 ,7 ,1 4 ,2 1 , 28, 35 and 42 after treatment. D. hominis larvae were counted on day 3 and further, weekly, until the sixth week. The efficacy in vitro of Ectofarma" on the hatchability of B. microplus eggs was 100%. In the field trial this product was highly effective against ticks during 3 weeks, and ticks mean number on the treated group was lower than on control one, until thefourth week after treatment. Reduction of D.hominis larvae reached 65% on the third day post-treatment, and mean number of larvae in treated animals was always lower than the amount found in untreated ones.
