ABSTRACT
This research was carry out with aim of study of factors affecting the IQ of children 4-6 years old born preterm. This analytical-cross sectional study was carried out on 102 premature children with age 4-6 years old during years 2004 to 2006. The tools used in this study were Wechsler intelligence scale for children and questioner including demographical characteristic. In this study we used t-test and spearman correlation and also SPSS-18 was used to analyze data. In this study there was statistical relationship between normal child development and gestational age, birth weight, maternal education, multiple pregnancies, but there were not any statistical significant relationship between the history of preterm birth and child s gender, consanguinity parents, apgar, mother job. IQ in preterm babies who admitted in the NICU was lower than non-admitted preterm or term babies

Cognitive problems in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD] include poor concentration and impaired memory. Prevalence of PTSD in all aspects of life is 8% in USA. Regarding the importance of memory in functional levels, this study was performed to review memory status in these patients. Fifty male war veterans with PTSD and major depression and 50 male non-veterans with depression participated in this study performed at psychiatric outpatient ward in Baqiyatallah hospital during 2008-2009. The patients met the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. Depression severity, sex, age, educational level, and marital status were matched in both groups. A psychologist completed demographic and Mississippi questionnaires, PTSD checklist [PCL], beck depression Inventory and wechsler memory scale. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software [version 11.0]. A P-value smaller than 0.05 was considered significant. The mean age of the veterans and non-veterans was 43.9 +/- 4.7 and 42 +/- 9.4 years, respectively. Memory status did not differ between the two groups [P>0.05]. There was no statistically significant correlation between duration and severity of PTSD with memory impairment [P>0.05]. A negative correlation was found between personal and general information with re-experiencing in the veterans [P<0.05]. Impaired memory was correlated with age greater than 45, educational level lower than high school diploma, severity of depression and longer participation in war. Although both PTSD and major depression affected memory, but memory status did not differ between patients with PTSD and depression and patients with chronic depression

In molecular approach, serum of camel contains a unique type of antibodies devoid of light chains since the light chain is missing, the heavy-chain antibodies should bind their antigen by one single domain, the variable domain of the heavy immunoglobulin chain. Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 [VEGFR-2] is one of the important proteins in angiogenesis which over-expressed in many types of tumors. Two male dromedaries [Camelus dromedarius] were immunized against VEGFR-2. ELISA was used to evaluate the immunization process. Camel immune sera were fractionated with protein A and G affinity chromatography. Heavy chain antibodies tested for its specific reactivity in cell-based ELISA in recognition of VEGFR-2 on the cell surface of three cell lines; 293/KDR, HUVECs and A431. In ELISA test, the camel sera in 1/12800 dilution had the acceptable results. Furthermore, cell-based ELISA demonstrated that the polyclonal heavy chain antibodies bind to VEGFR-2 in 293/KDR and HUVECs cell lines. Single chain polyclonal antibodies against VEGFR-2 can be used for detection of soluble form of this protein by ELISA, and also flowcytometry, western blotting and immunohistochemistry
