ABSTRACT

The genus Tetrastigma belongs to the Vitaceae family and contains over 100 species. This paper reviewed folk uses, chemical constituents, pharmacological activities, and clinical applications of the medicinal plants in the genus Tetrastigma. In addition, the paper also discussed the current problems for the further studies. Up to now, more than 240 compounds were reported from the genus Tetrastigma, covering 74 flavonoids, 14 terpenoids, 19 steroids, 21 phenylpropanoids, 14 alkaloids and others constituents. Among them, flavonoids are the major and the characteristic chemical constituents in this genus. Modern pharmacological studies and clinical practice showed that the extracts and chemical constituents of Tetrastigma species possessed wide pharmacological activities including antitumor, antioxidative, hepatoprotective, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activities. The information summarized in this paper provides valuable clues for new drug discovery and an incentive to expand the research of genus Tetrastigma.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the differences in the intake of macronutrients between boarders and resident students in China, and to provide a scientific reference for relevant policies and preventive measures.@*Methods@#The difference of macronutrients level between boarders and resident students were analyzed with the multilevel model (MLM) by using the data from Chinese Health and Nutrition Survey and the indicators of Chinese Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) 2013.@*Results@#The daily intake of energy, carbohydrate, fat and protein were (1 597.59±557.15)kcal, (216.2±84.66)g, (57.88±31.96)g, (52.69±21.2)g respectively, with a rate of meeting DRIs of 17.32%, 84.17%, 50.30% for energy, carbohydrate and protein. There were significant differences in amount of energy, carbohydrate between boarders and resident students, but no significant difference in rate of meeting DRIs (15.09%, 87.28%, 17.54%, 83.86%, P>0.05 ). No difference in the amount of fat and protein intake between boarders and resident students, but the protein rate of meeting DRIs among resident students was significantly lower than that in boarders(34.91% vs 51.82%, χ2=4.45, P<0.01).@*Conclusion@#The results revealed an imbalanced intake of macronutrients among primary and secondary school students, which highlight the insufficiency in energy intake and the worse meeting rate of DRIs for protein among resident-student. The nutritional education targeting at boarder-students should be strengthened.

ABSTRACT

UL48 plays essential role in replication of MDV genome and interacts with UL36 as well as other MDV tegument proteins. To investigate the interaction between UL48 and UL36 during MDV oncogenisis, antibody against UL48 was prepared and characterized in current study.UL48 gene was amplified from MDV-Ⅰ genome and then subcloned into pTYB1 and pGEX-4T3 vectors for UL48 expression with induction of IPTG in BL21(DE3) E..coli cells.Chitin-sepharose and Glutathion-sepharose were, respectively, used to purify fusion protein intein-UL48 and GST-UL48.Four subcutaneous injections of intein-UL48 fusion protein were done on the lower back and the thigh of rabbit and then other three injections with an interval 10 days. The titer of antibody was measured by the sandwich ELISA with UL48 protein isolated from GST-UL48 after cleavage of thrombin.Western blot was carried out for specificity analysis of antibody against UL48 protein. The results suggested that UL48 antibody was succesfully prepared, and its titer was 1 ∶ 512 000.
