ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the clinical values of colposcopy and cervical biopsy and/or endocervical curettage (ECC) in the diagnosis of cervical lesion.@*Methods@#Clinical data of 128 cases of cervical lesion diagnosed by Xuzhou Cancer Hospital from January 23, 2014 to October 11, 2016 were collected and retrospectively analyzed, all patients underwent colposcopy and cervical biopsy and/or ECC.@*Results@#Among them, the age between 30 to 50 years old were 70 cases, whose transformation zone types of Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ were 28 cases (40.0%), 23 cases (32.9%) and 19 cases (27.1%), respectively. The age older than 50 years were 45 cases, whose transformation zone types of Ⅱ and Ⅲ were 1 case (2.2%) and 44 cases (97.8%), respectively. Among the 128 cases of cervical lesions, diagnostic results of colposcopy showed that the chronic inflammation were 57 cases, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN)Ⅰwere 35 cases, CINⅡor CINⅡ~Ⅲ were 8 cases, CIN Ⅲ were 5 cases and cervical cancer were 23 cases. Alternatively, the pathological results showed that the chronic inflammation were 81 cases, CINⅠwere 17 cases, CINⅡor CINⅡ~Ⅲ were 7 cases, CIN Ⅲ were 5 cases and cervical cancer were 18 cases, respectively. Among the 81 cases of chronic inflammation diagnosed by pathology, 52 cases (64.2%) were consistent with the diagnostic results of colposcopy. Among the 17 cases of low grade squamous epithelial cell lesion (LSIL) diagnosed by pathology, 10 cases were in agree with the diagnostic results of colposcopy. Among the 12 cases of high-grade squamous epithelial cell lesion (HSIL) diagnosed by pathology, 9 cases were concordant with the diagnostic results of colposcopy. Among the 18 cases of cervical cancer diagnosed by pathology, 17 cases were consistent with the diagnostic results of colposcopy.@*Conclusions@#The type of transformation zone is positively correlated with the age, and it can help to choose biopsy and therapeutic manner. The diagnostic accuracies of HSIL and early stage of cervical cancer by multi-point biopsy of colposcopy and/or ECC are high. The cervical lesions which are difficultly found by direct visualization can be identified by colposcopy, and thus provides objective evidence to determine the therapeutic manner for patients with stage ⅡA of cervical cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of DNA ploidy analysis combined with immunocytochemistry p16/ki-67 double staining in cervical high grade squamous intraepithelial neoplasia(HSIL) and cervical squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).Methods A total of 73 cases of cytological tests were randomly collected.Among them,53 cases were small DNA ploidy abnormal cells and 20 cases were DNA ploidy negative. The p16/Ki-67 results were detected by immunocytochemistry double staining. With the pathological results as the golden standard, the diagnostic values of DNA ploidy analysis and DNA ploidy analysis combined with p16/Ki-67 double staining in HSIL + was contrastively analyzed by pathologic results. Results Among 20 samples of DNA ploidy negative, the p16/Ki-67 double staining results all were negative. The positive predictive value of DNA ploidy analysis for HSIL + was 34.62%.The sensitivity of DNA ploidy analysis combined with p16/Ki-67 double staining for HSIL + was 84.62%,and its specificity was 92.31%,the positive predictive value was 78.57% and the negative predictive value was 94.74%,which were significantly higher than those of DNA ploidy analysis(P<0.05).Conclusion p16/Ki-67 double staining can significantly im prove the prediction value of HSIL.The DNA ploidy analysis combined with p16/Ki-67 double staining is an effective method for predicting HSIL +,which is suitable for the implementation in the areas with lack of medical resources.

ABSTRACT

Purpose To investigate the expression of gelsolin-like actin-capping protein (CapG) in gastric cancer and adjacent normal gastric tissues and its relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods The immunohistochemical (IHC) assay was performed to detect the expression of CapG protein in 125 specimens of gastric cancer (study group) and 30 specimens of matched adjacent normal gastric tissues (control group). No patients had received chemotherapy or radiotherapy before surgery.Immunostaining was scored semiquantitatively by two independent observers who were blinded to the patients' outcome and other clinicopathological parameters. The correlation of the expression of CapG with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis was analyzed. Results Cytoplasmic and nuclear CapG protein staining was detected in all gastric cancer tissues.CapG protein expression was absent or low in matched adjacent normal gastric tissues but significantly higher in gastric cancer tissues.Expression of CapG in the tumor was not significantly associated with gender, age, tumor size, tumor location (P > 0.05).However,elevated CapG expression was strongly correlated with the depth of invasion (P =0.044),lymph node metastasis (P =0.026),distant metastasis (P =0.001),and AJCC stage (P =0.012).Significant poorer overall survival was observed in the high CapG expression group compared with that of the low CapG expression group (P <0.001).Multivariate analysis showed overall survival correlated with the patients' tumor location, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis,AJCC stage and the expression of CapG protein. Conclusion CapG is highly expressed in gastric cancer.Tumors with CapG up-regulation tend to have poorer prognosis, suggesting overexpression of CapG may contribute to the prediction of poorer prognosis and may be a potential therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of medical supervised aerobic exercise on physical activity, quality of life and psychological status in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods SLE patients who fulfilled ACR criteria were recruited and divided into 2 groups: exercise group (n=24) and control group (n=25). The patients in the exercise group were supervised to have aerobic exercises. The intensiveness of exercise was determined by 20%-40% of maximum heart rate reservation. Visual analog scale (VAS), SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) score, physical working capacity (PWC170), SF-36 and profile of mood states (POMS) of the two groups were used to evaluate the changes at the baseline, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after this study. Results The 2 groups were homogeneous and comparable in disease activity at baseline. 1, 3 and 6 months after the study, the VAS, PWC170, POMS and SF -36 of SLE patients were improved in certain degrees in both groups, while the improvement of VAS (P<0.05), PWCITO (P< 0.01 ) and social function of SF-36 (P<0.05) of exercise group were significantly more evident than those of the control group in 6 months after study without any impact on disease condition. There was a high negative correlation between VAS and 5 categories of POMS (r=-6.26~-0.393, P<0.01 ) and a more relevant positive association between VAS and 2 categories of POMS (r=0.534~0.611, P<0.01). Conclusion The data demonstrate that the supervised aerobic exercise can ameliorate physical capacity, improve quality of life and psychological and emotional status in the state SLE patients without aggravating disease per se.
