ABSTRACT
Rheumatic fever survey was conducted among school children aged between 6-15 years [1]. A sample size of 9418 [10.2%] [of target population]representing target population of 92342 underwent cardiac evaluation. Incidence of congenital heart disease excluding mitral valve prolapse was 3.1 /1000in urban and 1.4/ 1000 in rural school children, thus averaging 2.8 / 1000. Details of cardiac defects are discussed
