ABSTRACT
La mastoplastia reductora es una de las operaciones más frecuentes en cirugía plástica y durante ella se producen pérdidas sanguíneas considerables que en ocasiones requieren de transfusión. La autotransfusión con predepósito mediato a la operación ha sido empleada con éxito en otras especialidades quirúrgicas, pero en la especialidad de cirugía plástica hay poca experiencia con este método. En este artículo trabajo se estudió la necesidad de empleo de sangre en 56 pacientes con hipertrofia mamaria luego de la mastoplastia reductora. Del total de pacientes 16 necesitaron transfusión y solo 2 requirieron además sangre homóloga. Se comprobó que la necesidad de transfusión fue directamente proporcional al volumen mamario. No existieron complicaciones en el proceso donación-transfusión y se destacan ventajas del método como el pesquisaje de hepatitis y SIDA y la obtención de sangre para otros fines hospitalarios(AU)
The mastoplastia reductora is one of the most frequent operations in plastic surgery and during her considerable sanguine losses that require of transfusion in occasions take place. The autotransfusión with mediate predepósito to the operation has been an employee with success in other surgical specialties, but in the specialty of plastic surgery there is little experience with this method. In this article work the necessity of employment of blood was studied in 56 patients with mammary hipertrofia after the mastoplastia reductora. Of the total of patient 16 needed transfusion and alone 2 also required homologous blood. He/she was proven that the transfusion necessity went directly proportional to the mammary volume. Complications didn't exist in the process donation-transfusion and they stand out advantages of the method like the hepatitis pesquisaje and AIDS and the obtaining of blood for other hospital ends(AU)
