All the specimens were cultured onto 5% sheep blood agar, chocolate agar and sabouraud's dextrose agar plates. 32 patients with infections were using extended wear soft contact lenses and 8 patients were using daily wear soft contact lenses. Lesions detected were corneal ulcers in 25 patients; conjunctivitis in 7 patients; conjunctivitis with corneal infiltration in 8 patients. ABSTRACT

Contact Lens fitting in children is mainly for unilateral aphakia, unilateral high myopia and rarely for therapeutic or cosmetic reasons. There are many difficulties encountered in fitting. Certain precautions should be followed, particularly the choice of the proper type of lens to achieve the best possible visual acuity, and careful monitoring of vision to avoid the occurance of amblyopia. Analysis of the results of fitting and follow up is presented
