Procedimentos bariátricos são seguros, mas não isentos de intercorrências. Emergencistas devem estar aptos a identificar e a prover manejo adequado para condições como deiscência de anastomose, obstrução intestinal, síndrome de dumping e encefalopatia de Wernicke.


Bariatric procedures are safe, but not free from complications. Emergency physicians must be able to identify and provide required treatment to conditions as anastomotic leak, bowel obstruction, dumping syndrome and Wernicke encephalopathy.
