ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to review the examination of the neurologic status after cardiac arrest. We review the pathophysiology of brain ischemia highlighting the thresholds, we defined the alterations of conciousness regarding it prognostic value and finally we review the complementary studies in order to select the most important to this kind of patients. A complete bibliogrphical review until 1992 is cited in each part of the article.
