ABSTRACT
Prostatic abscess is difficult to diagnose and may not be differentiated from other prostatic diseases on the basis of history and clinical examination alone. Computed tomography [CT] plays a significant role in diagnosing, in defining the extent of the abscess and in helping to plan the optimal surgical approach and follow up. In this article we report the case of a patient in whom a prostatic abscess was diagnosed by computed tomography and drained by transurethral incision. The literature concerning computed tomography in the evaluation of prostatic abscess has been reviewed
