Reflexões teóricas sobre o cotidiano e a geografia no envelhecimento humano / Theoretical reflections about daily life and geography in human aging

O presente artigo foi construído como um exercício de reflexão teórica com base na leitura do mundo atual como expressão da modernidade em transformação. Nesse sentido, o envelhecimento humano foi trabalhado a partir da construção de cotidiano que emerge na modernidade e influencia diretamente na leitura dos processos socioespaciais. Inexoravelmente, a reflexão sobre o mundo e os processos relacionados a dinâmica do mundo são, em essência, geográficos, uma vez que toda ação social e realizada em um mundo real e concreto. Pensar a contemporaneidade, entre outras possibilidades, exige reflexões sobre o concebido, o percebido e o vivido, o que nos leva a recorrer a vida cotidiana, em sentido amplo, como categoria central da reflexão, uma vez que ela nos ajuda a entender os mecanismos de reprodução social que revelam as possibilidades e impossibilidades de realização da vida em seus diferentes níveis. Por isso, assumimos que as reflexões entre cotidiano e geografia podem, se utilizadas com cuidado, ajudar na interpretação do mundo atual, com particular interesse, da velhice e do processo de envelhecimento. Este exercício pressupõe analisar vínculos e comportamentos para além do aparente, evidenciando os processos de forma sincrônica e diacrônica, recuperando os nexos e as contradições da reprodução da vida em sociedade, para além do imediatamente aparente e estrutural.

This article was built as a theoretical reflection exercise based on the reading of the present world as an expression of modernity in transformation, in this sense, the human aging was worked from the daily construction that emerges in modernity and directly influences the interpretation of government socio-spatial. Inexorably, the reflection on the world and the world’s dynamics related processes are geographically essencial, since all social action is performed in a real and concrete world and. To think contemporary, among other possibilities, requires reflections on the conceived, the perceived and the lived. This brings us to everyday life, in a broad sense, as a central category of reflection, since it helps us to understand the social reproduction mechanisms that reveal the possibilities and impossibilities of life achievement in different levels, so we assume the reflections between everyday and geography can, if used carefully, assist in the interpretation of today’s world, with particular interest of old age and the aging process. This exercise analyzes links and behaviors beyond the apparent, showing the processes of synchronic and diachronic way, recovering the connections and contradictions of reproduction of society, beyond the immediately apparent and structural.

Representação do envelhecimento em Amour: notas sobre os processos socioespaciais na velhice / Representation of the aging process in Amour: notes about sociospatial processes during old age

Este artigo tem como objetivo principal discutir as representações do envelhecimento a partir da análise crítica do filme Amour, produção dirigida pelo cineasta austríaco Michael Haneke, que narra a história de um casal de idosos, Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) e Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant), de forma sensível e profunda. Produzido em 2012, o filme tem despertado atenção de críticos e público em geral por sua forma contundente de representar o envelhecimento, o que justifica a seleção da obra para acionar debates. Adota-se como recurso metodológico à representação social a partir da descrição da experiência estética das imagens, a saber: o conteúdo da experiência e os efeitos da experiência estética, identificando a relação entre as imagens apresentadas e os temas sociais relacionados. Partindo de uma perspectiva crítica, destacamos temas relevantes a partir da apreciação fílmica, tais como: as relações entre o público e o privado, as debilidades do corpo envelhecido e a aproximação da morte, além de aspectos afetivos e relacionais que são acionados no filme. As contribuições trazidas ao longo do texto tensionam e contribuem para esgarçar o debate acadêmico por considerar as produções artísticas e culturais como artefatos legítimos para pensar a velhice. Acredita-se que Amour é uma produção que detém o poder de acionar debates para além dos postos neste texto e, portanto, serve como um instrumento que auxilia na identificação das representações acerca da velhice, refletindo acerca das possibilidades de reprodução da vida dos idosos no mundo moderno.

This article aims to discuss the main representations of aging from the critical analysis of the film Amour, directed by the Austrian filmmaker Michael Haneke, which tells the story of an elderly couple – Anne (Emmanuelle Riva) e Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) – in a sensible and deep way. Produced in 2012, the film has attracted the attention of critics and general audience for its scathing way of representing the aging process, fact that justifies the choice of this work to generate debates. It’s adopted as a methodology to social representation from the description of the aesthetic experience of images, namely the content of experience and the effects of aesthetic experience, identifying the relationship between the images presented and related social issues. From a critical perspective, we can highlight relevant subjects since the appreciation of the film, as: relations between public, the weakness of the aging body and the approximation of death, as well as affective and relational aspects that are addressed at the film. The contributions made throughout the text intend and contribute to rip the academic debate for considering artistic and cultural productions as authentic artifacts to think the aging process. We believe that Amour is a production which has the force to generate debates that appear beyond places in this text and thus serves as a tool that assists in identifying representations about old age, reflecting on the possibilities possibilities of reproduction of life of older people in the modern world.
