ABSTRACT

Study of mixed ligand complexes of Co[2+] and Zn[2+] with three Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors [ACE] was conducted in aqueous solution by pH metric titration. These are Enalapril maleate [I], Perindopril [II] and Moexipril [III] and one of the amino acid family [glycine]. Protonation constants of the three drugs and stability constants of the binary and ternary complexes were determined at [25 +/- 1] [degree sign] C and ionic strength 0.1M NaCl. The stability constants of the binary complexes of I, II and III with Co[2+] and Zn[2+] were performed and the results indicate the presence of one formation constant for the complexes of Co[2+] and Zn[2+] ions with II and III and two formation constants for I. By introducing glycine in the above binary complexes, ternary complexes were formed. The formation constant of the ternary complexes of I, II and III with Co[2+] and Zn[2+] ions with glycine was also calculated at the same temperature and ionic strength. This potentiometric technique was utilized also for the determination of the cited drugs

ABSTRACT

This study sheds light on the pH-meter studies of the complexes of sulfamethoxypyridazine with trivalent transition metal ion, in order to obtain a comparison of the relative stability of complexions containing trivalent cations. An attempt was made to obtain the formation constants of the complexes of Cr[III] and Fe[III] with sulfamethoxypyridazine, a sulfonamide possessing pyridazine ring, which have not been widely studied and also to complete studies on the chelating tendencies of sulfa drugs. The study was made in different ionic strength of NaCl at 30 degrees and at one and the same ionic strength 0.1 M at 38 degrees. Thermodynamic parameters [delta G, delta H and delta S] were calculated at 30 degrees and 0.1 M [NaCl] ionic strength

ABSTRACT

Thermodynamic equilibrium constants have been determined by potentiometric titration at 20 degrees, 30 degrees, 40 degrees and 50 degrees for the reactions of sulfadiazine [1], sulfamerazine [2] and sulfasomidine [3] with Cu[11], Zn[11] Co[11], Ni[11], Mn[11] by the Irving and Rossotti method in 50% ethanol medium in order to compare the relative activities of different temperatures

ABSTRACT

Ten cases of coexisting corneal and lens opacities were operated upon by the triple procedure. The technique comprises removal of the diseased corneal disc followed by a techniques for the open-sky anterior capsulectomy. Nucleus delivery was achieved by spearing by two needles. Residual cortex was removed by combination of aspiration, irrigation aspiration, sponge dissection and direct peeling with forceps. In seven uncomplicated cases posterior chamber lens were introduced. In three cases with forceps. In seven uncomplicated cases posterior chamber lens were introduced. In three cases with forceps. In seven uncomplicated cases posterior chanber lens were introduced. In three cases with vitreous loss, anterior vitrectomy was done followed by anterior chamber lens implantation. Then the donor disc was sutured using ruing 10/0 monofilament sutures. The results were satisfactory in eight out of the ten cases

ABSTRACT

Sixty seven cases of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment were operated by the non-drainage technique. Reoperation was considered in eleven failure cases, seven of these eleven cases were reoperated by the same non-drainage technique with success. The study presents an analysis of the causes of failure and emphasizes sticking to non-drainage technique even in recurrent cases. The situations where drainage is indicated ore discussed
