ABSTRACT

The gastro-duodenal ulcer is rare in the child. Gastro-duodenal ulcer is typically secondary to systemic illness or drugs in young children. In contrast, duodenal ulcers in older children and adolescents has a relapsing course that is increasingly recognised to be related to coexisting, chronic antral gastritis and helicobacter pylon infection. The symptomalogy is different from this in the adult. The functional syndrome takes its typical character only at the approach of the puberty dominated by the abdominal pains. The haemorrhage complications are well revealing. The diagnosis is secured by the radiology and/or the fibroscopy which constitutes at present the choice examination. Endoscopy is now recommended in first intention particularly in the case of a haemorrhage. The treatment is medical if there are no complications; anti secretors are used in the treatment

ABSTRACT

We report one case primary hyperoxaluria in a fourteen year old child. The diagnosis was possible after the discovery of oxalate of Ca crystals in kidneys and marrow. Our case illustrates some of the clinical and paraclinical characteristics of oxalosis. It also proves how severe the kidney failure could be in this disease. The diagnosis criteria and the therapeutic possibilities that lead to improve this diseasee are also discussed here
