ABSTRACT
Hydron synthetic film, by making a dry scab in about 84 minutes, provides an early barrier to exogenous bacterial contamination of the wound and allows water miscible atimicrobial agents to pass through it. In the present series of 50 cases of 10% to 30% burns polybactrin antibiotic spray was used on the wounds before making the hydron film and then on the film twice daily. The superficial wounds healed earlier, the rate of infection was lower and the deep wounds required fewer skin grafts than in the control group of similar cases
