ABSTRACT

Epidermoid cyst of the testis is a rare benign germ cell tumor, comprising 1-2% of all resected benign testicular masses. Approximately 300 cases have been reported to date. Unilateral involvement has often been reported in the English literature. However, bilateral occurrence is very rare and to the best of our knowledge, there are only 3 previous reports of bilateral testicular epidermoid cysts. The fact that they are completely benign makes them amenable to treatment by local excision, thereby saving patient from orchidectomy. Recognition of their characteristic ultrasonographic features is very important to avoid unnecessary intervention. We present here, a case of bilateral epidermoid cyst in which characteristic ultrasound US findings allowed testis-sparing enucleation instead of radical orchiectomy

ABSTRACT

A one-and-a-half year old boy who presented with a cough, irritability, and refusal of food was found to have an impacted foreign body in his upper esophagus. We present the radiologic findings of the foreign body (a button battery) impacted in the upper esophagus and its complications; namely, mediastinitis and spondylodiscitis after endoscopic removal. Further, plain radiograph and MR imaging findings are discussed along with literature review.

ABSTRACT

Intravenous drug abusers are prone to many complications, one of which is development of pseudoaneurysm at the injection site. We report an unusual case of an intravenous drug abuser who developed a pseudoaneurysm of the external iliac artery with hematoma dissecting into the iliopsoas muscle and discuss the role of doppler and CT in the diagnosis

ABSTRACT

The evaluation of foreign body begins with routine radiographs. Recently, ultrasonography has gained a wide acceptance in emergency radiology for detection of soft tissue foreign body especially in cases where routine radiograph is negative. Here in, we report a case referred to us for a non-healing wound in his right leg in which ultrasonography detected a non radio-opaque wooden foreign body in the soft tissues
