ABSTRACT
Nasal polyps constitutes a considerable amount of the otolaryngologists work, the etiology of nasal polyposis is yet not fully understood and many theories have been postulated for it's etiology and pathogenesis. The theories of the etiology of nasal polyp must be understood to provide the patient with proper management, this study was carried out on 20 of the Hearing and Speech institute patients with nasal polyps and 10 healthy individuals as control group to determine the relation between nasal polypi and IgE. Sixteen patients were found to be positive for total IgE in their sera while only one was found to be positive for the specific IgE panel we used. These figures reflect the importance of the role of IgE and allergy in the formation of nasal polyps
