ABSTRACT

@#Poliomyelitis is on the verge of eradication since the introduction of the vaccine in 1950. In developed countries, those afflicted with the disease are primarily in their sixth decade and beyond, usually with disabling complications. Due to the diminished muscle power coupled with the abnormal bony anatomy and joint contractures, patients with polio present unique surgical challenges when they sustain fragility fractures. We report an uncommon case of intertrochanteric hip fracture in a limb affected with polio and hip dysplasia, on a background of ipsilateral distal femur fracture with previous surgical fixation. We aim to outline the challenges encountered during the surgery and the preoperative planning to overcome these shortcomings.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the expression levels of IL-11 and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in patients with breast cancer and their correlation with bone metastasis .Methods The 108 cases of breast cancer(breast cancer group) ,30 cases of breast benign tumor (breast benign tumor group) and 30 cases of healthy controls (control group) were performed by ELISA to de-tect the expression of serum IL-11 ,CTGF ,and their relationship with bone metastases was analyzed .All the patients were followed up for 2 years ,survival rates between different expression levels of IL-11 ,CTGF were compared .Results Compared with those in control group and breast benign tumor group ,the expressions of IL-11 ,CTGF in breast cancer group were increased (P<0 .05) , while there was no significant difference between control group and breast benign tumor group (P<0 .05) .The levels of serum IL-11 ,CTGF in different stages of breast cancer with bone metastases were significantly higher than those in breast cancer without bone metastases(P<0 .05) ,and the levels of IL-11 ,CTGF in bone metastases stage of Ⅲ - Ⅳ were higher than those in bone me-tastases stage ofⅠ - Ⅱ(P<0 .05) .Serum IL-11 and CTGF was positively correlated in breast cancer patients with or without bone metastases(r=0 .514 ,0 .477 ,P<0 .05) .At 2 year after surgery ,the survival rate in patients with high expression of IL-11 and CT-GF was significantly lower than that with low expression (χ2 =4 .50 ,5 .18 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion The levels of serum IL-11 ,CT-GF in breast cancer patients are overexpressed ,which could be used as an effective serological tumor markers for diagnosis of bone metastases and assessment of prognosis .

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the effect of gastrointestinal function recovery of Gastric surgery treated Different ways Gastrointestinal decompression. Methods A total of 103 cases with gastric cancer patients were collected from May 2014 to April 2015 in our hospital for radical gastrectomy, all the patients were divided into two groups, there were 51 cases in the study group, all of them implemented no negative natural drainage decompression, there were 52 cases in the control group, all of them implemented continuous suction decompression. The postoperative gastric 3 d daily average drainage, postoperative recovery, adverse reaction rates and complication rates of two groups were com-pared. Results In the study group, the exhaust time, stomach retention time, postoperative hospital stay time were sig-nificantly shorter than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in 3d average daily gastric drainage, the overall incidence of adverse reactions and the overall incidence of complications between the study group and the control group (P>0.05). Conclusion After giving no negative gastric decompression better natural drainage, drainage and continuous suction decompression similar, but can promote the rehabilitation of patients, shorter hospital stay, clinical application can be in.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the short-term effect of laparoscopic and open surgery for colorectal cancer. Methods 118 cases with colorectal cancer were selected from January 2011 to April 2012 patients in our hospital and were divided into two groups, the study group and the control group had 59 cases. The study group given laparoscopic surgery, the control group to implemented laparotomy, the clinical efficacy of two groups were compared. Results The blood loss of the study group was less than the control group, bowel function recovery time, hospital stays time were shorter than the control group, the operation time was longer than the control group, the difference was statistically sig-nificant (P<0.05). Pre-operative research, post and the total number of surgical lymph node dissection, and 3-year sur-vival rate of the study group compared with the control group had no significant difference (P>0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications, recurrence rates of the study group were lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Laparoscopic treatment of colorectal cancer is effective, the effect of the tumor and lymph node dissection similar to open surgery, laparoscopic surgery can reduce the amount of bleeding, rapid postoperative recovery, low complication rate and recurrence rates, worthy application.
