ABSTRACT

Objective:To analysis clinical and histopathological features of solitary dermal melanoma (SDM) .Methods:Clinical and histopathological data were collected from 5 patients with SDM, and analyzed retrospectively. Results:The 5 patients with SDM presented with black, skin-colored or red papules or nodules without any specific anatomic predilection. These lesions pathologically manifested as localized dermal/subcutaneous solitary nodules with characteristics of malignancy but no obvious capsules, and the epidermis was not involved. Conclusion:Detailed clinical data and skin histopathological examination are the key to accurate diagnosis of SDM.

ABSTRACT

To systematically review the effectiveness and safety of Tanreqing Injection in treating acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis( AECB). CNKI,Wan Fang,VIP,CBM,Medline,Cochrane Library,EMbase and Web of Science were retrieved, and randomized controlled trials for the effect of Tanreqing Injection in the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis were screened. The quality of the included studies was evaluated according to the Cochrane Handbook's evaluation criteria. The data was analyzed by RevMan 5.3. Totally 23 RCTs involving 1 901 patients were included, including 952 in the experimental group and 949 in the control group. The Meta-analysis demonstrated that in terms of the disappearance time of fever, the group of Tanreqing Injection combined with the conventional therapy was superior to conventional therapy group( RR =-1. 03,95%CI[-1. 45,-0. 62],P<0. 000 01); compared with the conventional therapy group, the group of Tanreqing Injection combined with conventional therapy had a higher cure rate for AECB( RR = 1. 17,95% CI[1. 13,1. 23],P < 0. 000 01). The group of Tanreqing Injection combined with levofloxacin had a higher cure rate for AECB than the levofloxacin group( RR = 1. 23,95% CI[1. 08,1. 41],P = 0. 002). The group of Tanreqing Injection combined with cefuroxime had a higher cure rate for AECB than the cefuroxime group( RR = 1. 22,95%CI[1. 05,1. 42],P = 0. 01).The group of Tanreqing Injection combined with cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium had a higher cure rate for AECB than the group of cefoperazone sodium and sulbactam sodium( RR = 1. 22,95% CI[1. 04,1. 44],P = 0. 02). The outcomes of disappearance time of cough and expectoration had a huge heterogeneity,so were used for descriptive analysis. The adverse reactions mainly included skin rash, dizziness, gastrointestinal reactions. Based on the available data and the results of the analysis, the group of Tanreqing Injection combined with Western medicine has a higher cure rate for acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and the effect in reducing symptoms disappearance time. In view of the limited number of included studies, small sample size and low methodological quality, the results of this study need to be confirmed with high-level clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo study the role of aquaporin 5(AQP5) in regulating the cell proliferation and apoptosis of human colorectal cancer cells and explore the possible mechanism.

METHODSA small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting AQP5 was used to suppress endogenous AQP5 expression in the human colorectal cancer cell lines COLO 205 and SW480, and the transfection efficiency of AQP5 siRNA was determined using immunofluorescence assay and PCR. The changes in the proliferation of the transfected cells was evaluated with MTT assay, and the cell apoptosis was analyzed using Annexin V-FITC/PI and TUNEL assays; the changes of Bax and Bcl2 expressions in the cells were determined using RTPCR and Western blotting.

RESULTSTransfection with AQP-5-siRNA resulted in a significant reduction (up to 90%) of AQP-5 expression in COLO 205 and SW480 cells. MTT assay showed that AQP-5-siRNA transfection significantly inhibited the cell proliferation compared NS siRNA transfection (P<0.05). Flow cytometric analysis revealed significantly increased apoptotic rate of cells following AQP-5-siRNA transfection compared with NS?siRNA transfection(P<0.05). Real-time quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting demonstrated that AQP-5-siRNA transfection significantly increased Bax and Bcl-2 expressions at both mRNA and protein levels in the cells.

CONCLUSIONAQP5-siRNA can promote apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells in vitro possibly in relation to its effects on Bax and Bcl expressions.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo explore the better therapy in the treatment of ganglion.

METHODSNinety cases of ganglion were randomized into a two-way quintuple puncture group, a common quintuple puncture group and a fire needling group, 30 cases in each one. In the two-way quintuple puncture group, the "9-in-1" multiple penetrating needling technique was used. In the common quintuple puncture group, the traditional "5-in-1" multiple penetrating needling technique was applied. In the fire needling group, the traditional multiple fire needling technique was adopted. The treatment was given once a day, 3 treatments made one session and the efficacy was analyzed statistically after 1 session treatment in the three groups.

RESULTSAll of the three therapeutic methods achieved the efficacy on ganglion. The curative rate was 96. 7% (29/30) in the two-way quintuple puncture group, which was better obviously than 66.7% (20/30) in the common quintuple puncture group and 60. 0% (18/30) in the fire needling group (both P<0. 01).

CONCLUSIONThe two-way quintuple puncture technique achieves the remarkably superior efficacy on ganglion as compared with the common quintuple puncture technique and fire needling technique.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the rule about changes on main active compositions of Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma before and after being processed, and to explore its processing principle.

METHODThe HPLC method was employed to determine the content of atractrylone, atractrylode I, II, III and total volatile oil of Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma with different processes. The processing principle before and after processing of Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma was investigated.

RESULTCompared with Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, the contents of atractrylone in different processed products of Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma were decreased by some extent. The lowest content was 0.33% in Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma of stir-fried with dirt, reduced by 25.4%; the content of atractylenolide I, III were significantly increased, the highest content were 0.069% and 0.078% in Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma of stir-fried with bran, respectively; the content of atractylenolide II was increased slightly, the highest content was 0.066% in Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma of stir-fried with dirt; the content of total volatile oil was significantly reduced, the lowest content was 0.64% in Atractrylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma of stir-fried with dirt.

CONCLUSIONThe content of atractylon is significantly reduced after processing, which changed into atractrylode I, II, III by some extent, and improve the effective cure of Atractrylodis Macrocephala Rhizoma.
