ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the method for scientific and comprehensive evaluation on indoor air quality of office building. Methods Three elements viz evaluation indexes, evaluation standards and weight coefficient in comprehensive evalu-ation on indoor air quality were analyzed. The background concentrations of ambient air pollutants were used as evaluation stan-dards.The data on indexes of indoor air pollutants with higher coefficient of variations were calculated by adding higher weight coefficients. The multiple correlation coefficients were used as the independence of the indexes of indoor air pollutants. The weight coefficients of the indexes of indoor air pollutants were calculated using the special formula based on the coefficient of variation and multiple correlation coefficient. This method was tried out ,as a comparative study for the comprehensive evaluation of indoor air quality based on the data on the concen trations of CO 2 ,CO,IP,total count of bacteria, the concentration of formaldehyde,NO 2 and SO 2 ,in indoor air of4office building reported in a certain published article. Results In the above or-der,the weight coefficients of air pollutants mentioned above calculated by this method were0.244,0.083,0.112,0.091,0.232,0.113and0.125,respectively.The evaluation result obtained by this method was more scientific and reasonable than that by the original report. Conclusion This method revealed higher sensitivity in the comprehensive evaluation on indoor air quality in office buildings.

ABSTRACT

Objective To know the characteristics of size distribution of the inhalable particles in the indoor air in the condition the under-floor air distribution systems were used and to study the effect of human activities and smoking. Methods The frequency of inhalable particulate matter was determined in Jun.-Jul.,2007. The surface area and mass concentration were calculated based on the assumption that the particulate was sphere and its density was 1g/cm3. The relationship between frequency, surface area, mass concentration and particle size were shown in logarithmic plot. Results It was found that the logarithm of cumulative frequency and the logarithm of diameter was a linear relation, the logarithm of cumulative total surface area and diameter was a linear relation and the logarithm of cumulative total mass and diameter was a linear relation. Particle of no less than 1 micron increased due to human activities, total mass concentration were two times the concentration of no human activities. The particle of no larger than 1 micron may increase due to smoking. Conclusion The diameter of the particle matter has relationship with the cumulative frequency, the cumulative total surface and the cumulative total mass.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the characteristics of human thermal response in the natural cold environment. Methods Investigated and contrasted the skin temperature, thermal response characteristic and thermal comfort results of five women and fifteen men, aged 20 to 32 years,5 to 8 years of local living,in indoor warm environment and outdoor natural cold environment in the end of November,2007,in suburb of a city in Sinkiang(height 1 600 m,the lowest outdoor temperature in winter is-25℃ and the highest outdoor temperature in winter is 5℃,indoor average temperature is 18℃).The measurement on site and questionnaires were used. Results The mean thermal comfort vote(MTCV) mostly distributes around-3(mostly uncomfortable) when the outdoor temperature is-4.3--5.0 ℃,relative humidity is 65.2%-66.7%,The mean thermal sensation vote(MTSV) is-1.5(clod) to-3(quite cold).Human body could appear different degree of cold intensity sense and the body could not help quivering.Noses, ears and hands appeared different degree of rose color.Eyes became dryness and weep after staying long time outdoor. Conclusion Temperature, relative humidity and wind speed all around affected the mean thermal sense vote value and mean thermal comfort vote value. In the environment of low temperature, humidity and wind speed could increase the intension of cold action.Human is more sensitive to cold sense than thermal sense.
