ABSTRACT

A method for separation of viable transitional epithelial cells from the urinary bladder of dog is described. Exclusion of Trypan blue the isolated cells [90%] and loss of small amount of LDH in the medium indicated intactness of the cell membrane. The morphological intactness and the homogeniety of the isolated cells in suspension were demonstrated by light and electron microscopy. The cells could be valuable for further studies of various investigations including the metabolic and absorptive functions of the urinary bladder epithelium
