ABSTRACT
Introdução: A otite média aguda recorrente é umadas doenças mais prevalentes na faixa etária infantil.Aproximadamente 2/3 de todas as crianças até um anode idade terão tido pelo menos um episódio de otitemédia aguda, e aos 7anos em média 90% terão apresentadotal enfermidade, sendo que destes 75% terãotido 3 ou mais episódios. Objetivo: Conhecer o perfildos pacientes com otite média recorrente na populaçãode 0-7anos no município de Criciúma. Metodologia:foi realizado um estudo observacional, transversal,descritivo, documental, com dados obtidos em doisconsultórios de otorrinolaringologia da cidade de Criciúmano período de julho de 2010 a julho de 2011, quebuscou caracterizar os aspectos epidemiológicos emrelação a idade, sexo, atopia, mal formações congênitas,deficiências imunológicas, hipertrofia adenoamigdaliana,desmame precoce, permanência em creches,posição da mamada, alergia ao leite de vaca e idade daprimeira otite. Resultados: Dentre os fatores de riscoanalisados o sexo teve igual proporção. A idade médiade maior acometimento foi de 3,77(±1,83) anos, sendoa média de idade da primeira otite 3,05(±1,89) anos.O desmame precoce ocorreu em 76% dos casos, e aposição deitada na mamada foi observados em 90,5%das crianças. Conclusão: A população predominantefoi composta por crianças com mal formações craniofaciais,que apresentavam hipertrofias adenoamigdalianase frequentavam creches, além de apresentaremdesmame precoce e mamar na posição deitada. Medianteresultados apresentados sugere-se a pesquisa desses fatores nas recorrências de otite média agudapara uma melhor abordagem do paciente.
Background: The recurrent acute otitis media isone of the most prevalent diseases in the age group ofchildren. Approximately two thirds of all children under oneyearo f age will have had atl east one episode ofa cute otitismedia, and 7 years on average 90% will have this disease,and of these 75% will three or more episodes. Objective:To know the profile of patients with recurrent otitismedia in the population of 0-7 years in the townof Criciúma. Methods: We performed an observationalstudy, descriptive, documentary, using data obtainedfrom two Otorhinolaryngology clinic of Criciúma fromJuly 2010 to July 2011, which aimed to characterize theepidemiological aspects in relation to age, sex, atopy, birthdefects, immune deficiencies, tonsil hypertrophy, earlyweaning, staring in day care, feeding position, cow?smilk allergy and age of first otitis. Results: Amongthe analyzed risk factors had equal sex ratio. The averageage of most affected was 3.77(± 1.83) years, with anaverage age of first otitis 3.05(±1.89) years. Early weaningoccurred in 76% of cases, and the breast feedingwhilelying was observed in 90.5% of children. Conclusions: Thepopulation was predominantly composed of childrenwith craniofacial malformations, tonsill hypertrophya whohad attended day care and, in addition to presentingearly weaning and breast feeding in a lying position.According to the results we suggest a research of thesefactors on recurrences of acute otitis media for a bettertreatment of the patient.
