ABSTRACT
El cuerpo humano ha recibido múltiples simbolizaciones y representaciones durante la historia de la humanidad en las que la evolución de las ciencias médicas ha jugado un papel fundamental en la construcción de cómo se conciben los seres humanos, tanto individual como colectivamente. Por ello, la medicina como ciencia ha perpetuado los preceptos de la ideología hegemónica patriarcal en consonancia con entornos específicos. Es imprescindible que quienes laboran en el sector de la Salud profundicen y se identifiquen con el tema para que, desde su labor en la sociedad, reviertan el desequilibrio entre ambos sexos. A partir de la transversalización del género, una categoría puntal para lograr una asistencia más integral, podrán incidir en una mejor calidad de vida de hombres y mujeres.
The human body has received multiple symbolizations and representations during the humanity's history in wich the evolution of the medical sciences has played a fundamental roll in the construction of how the human beings are conceived, individual and collectively speaking. That´s why, medicine like science has perpetuated the precepts of the patriarchal dominance ideology in consonance with specific environments. It is indispensable that those who work in the sector of Health deepen and feel identified with the topic so that, from their work in the society, revert the imbalance between both sexes. Starting from the transversalization of the gender, a category prop to achieve a more integral attendance, will be able to impact in a better quality of men and women's life.
