Palmas-TO implantou o SAMU em 2005 com a finalidade de prestar socorro à população em casos de urgência e emergência. O serviço possui um sistema de informação para armazenamento dos dados referentes às chamadas recebidas na central de regulação médica.

The city of Palmas in the state of Tocantins, Brazil, set up the Mobile Emergency Health Care Service (SAMU) in 2005 in order to provide urgency and emergency service for its population.
