ABSTRACT
El propósito fundamental del trabajo es destacar la figura del Maestro como divulgador de los avances de la ciencia y la técnica en las dos últimas décadas del siglo XIX, y su influencia en su pensamiento científico - técnico. Se realiza un análisis de la época de los últimos quince años vividos por Martí, de su ejercicio periodístico, como vehículo más importante, mediante el cual se manifiesta su interés por el devenir científico - técnico, el cual encuentra su más alta expresión en la revista La América. Se concluye que el ejercicio periodístico, el sentido de información actualizada y de divulgación orientadora convierten al Maestro en uno de los más completos divulgadores de los avances de la ciencia y la técnica de su época.
The fundamental purpose of the work is to highlight the Teacher's figure like utterer of the advances of the science and the technique in the last two decades of the XIX century, and its influence in its scientific thought - technician.
