ABSTRACT

Objective To study the clinical effect of celecoxib combined with radiotherapy in the treatment of malignant glioma tumor of brain. Methods A total of 80 patients diagnosed as brain malignant tumor were randomly divided into control group (n=40) and observation group (n=40). The control group received three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy for 5 times a week, with dosage 4-6 Gy each time. Base on control group, the observation group received celecoxib 0.2 g/time twice a day during treatment. After 6 weeks, the clinical efficacy, immune function, quality of life and the serum levels of metalloprotease-9 (MMP-9), transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were compared between two groups of patients. Results After 6 weeks of the current therapy, the total effective rate was better in observation group than that of control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+increased in the both groups. The level of CD8+decreased,and the changes of CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+were significantly higher after treatment in the observation group than those of control group, but CD8+was lower in the observation group than that of control group (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, the levels of MMP-9, TGF-β and VEGF were significantly decreased after treatment in both two groups. The levels of MMP-9,TGF-β and VEGF were significantly lower after treatment in the observation group(P<0.05).The life quality was significantly better and the overall efficiency of the improvement of the disease was higher in observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Celecoxib can enhance the radiosensitivity of glioma patients. The combined treatment can improve the clinical efficacy and quality of life of patients. Moreover,it improves patients'immune function and reduces the levels of VEGF,TGF-β and MMP-9.

ABSTRACT

The method of physical fingerprint spectrum for Reduning injection (RI) was proposed in this paper to improve its quality standards based on the strong correlation between physicochemical properties of drugs, their safety, effectiveness and stability. The quality of RI was studied by the thought and method of physical chemistry. The physical fingerprint spectrum was visually showed by the radar map, and consisted of eight indexes (pH, conductivity, turbidity, refractive index, osmolarity, surface tension, relative density, and kinematic viscosity). Then 12 batch of samples were verified. It was found that the physical fingerprint spectra of 3 batches of RI were in line with the standards within their validity time, with similarity above 0.999; in addition for the expired 9 batches of RI, their physical fingerprint spectra did not meet the standards. The results showed that physical fingerprint spectrum can be used for the quality control of RI, with a certain exemplary role in the quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine injection.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the prospect of clinical application of indocyanine green (ICG) in sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in patients with breast cancer. Methods Seventy-two female breast cancer patients were selected from those receiving surgery during July 2014 and December 2014, with an age range of 33-67 years and a median age of 50 years, and they were randomly divided into experimental group (n=35) and control group (n=37), ICG and methylene blue as tracers were used respectively for SLNB. The surgical specimens were submitted to frozen section for pathological examination. The patients with metastasis to SLN received axillary lymph node dissection. Results The successful detection rate of metastasis to SLN by ICG method was 94.3%, with a total of 111 SLNs, with an average of 3.17 SLNs for each patient, and the accuracy rate was 94.3%, the sensitivity and false negative rate were 100% and 0%, respectively. On the other hand, the detection rate with methylene blue method was 92.0%, including 78 SLNs, with an average of 2.1 SLNs for each patient, and the accuracy rate was 89.2%, the sensitivity and false negative rates were 92.9% and 7.7%, respectively. The differences between two methods in the average SLNs and false-negative rate were statistically significant (P0.05). Conclusion ICG method for SLNB in breast cancer shows a higher success rate and lower false negative rate, indicating that its clinical efficacy is superior to that of methylene blue, therefore it may be hopeful to be used alone in SLNB for breast cancer.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the molecular subtypes of 73 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica biotype 1A isolated in Shandong province by PFGE, and thereby to analyze the relationship between PFGE typing and biological characteristics.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Seventy-three strains of Yersinia enterocolitica biotype 1A were isolated from animal feces and meat products in Gaomi city and Wulian county in Shandong province from 2008 to 2009. Motility test, serum agglutination and virulent genes detection by PCR were used to learn the biological characteristics of the isolated strains. The molecular subtypes were determined by PFGE, whose relationships with motility, serotypes and virulent genotypes were also analyzed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Out of the 73 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica, 5 showed medium-active motility while the other 68 showed well-active motility. The dominated serotypes were O:5(17/73) and O:8(14/73), followed by O:9(5/73) and O:7, 8(1/73), and there was no O:3 serotype found. Meanwhile, 36 strains couldn't be serotyped. All the strains were negative with the gene ail, ystA, yadA and virF, yet the positive rate of ystB gene was 72.6% (53/73). The 73 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica isolated could be subtyped into 54 PFGE patterns (K6GN11SD0001-K6GN11SD0054), most of which only had 1 or 2 isolated strains, and no pattern was dominant. The strains in the same or similar cluster were from different hosts; each serotype and toxic genotype scattered in the clustering trees, without specific correlation with PFGE subtypes. 4 out of 5 strains, which showed medium-active motility, belonged to one branch, with the similarity coefficient at 80.9% - 100.0%; while all the toxic genotype belonged to type B.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Biotype 1A Yersinia enterocolitica has many clones, whose PFGE types had relations with motility, but no relations with virulent genotype and host.</p>
