ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the method and application experience of nasolabial subcutaneous pedicled flap in the repair of skin defect after resection of nasolabial mass. Methods:From December 2016 to December 2020, a total of 58 patients (43 cases of nevus, 12 cases of seborrheic keratosis and 3 cases of keratinacanthoma) were admitted to the Facial Neck Center of Plastic Surgery Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, including 24 males and 34 females. They ranged from 17 to 55 years old, with an average age of 33 years. The minimum facial tumor area was 0.8 cm×0.8 cmand the maximum was 2.2 cm×2.0 cm. A local skin flap with a subcutaneous pedicle was designed preoperatively in the nasolabial groove area, and the subcutaneous pedicle was transferred to the defect area through subcutaneous tunnel or by disconnecting the surrounding tissue. The tumor was removed and the skin defect was closed at one stage. Postoperative complications were summarized and patient's satisfaction was investigated.Results:Follow-up period ranged from 6 to 48 months. All the 58 patients had primary healing of the transfer incisions, and all the flaps survived. The blood supply of the flaps was good, and the scar of the operative area was smooth. After resection of peri-lip mass, there was 1 case with obvious scar in the donor area of nasolabial groove, and the overall satisfaction rate was 98.3%.Conclusions:The application of nasolabial subcutaneous pedicled skin flap to repair the skin defect after resection of nasolabial tumor has the advantages of preventing the pulling deformation of the organ, it can be completed in one stage and repair the facial skin defect from a distant position. In addition, the thickness and color of the skin flap are similar to the defect site, and the scar of the donor site is not obvious, and so the appearance and function of the surgery can be satisfied.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the prevalence of depression of middle school students in Liaoning Province in 2019 and analyze its influencing factors, to provide corresponding strategies and measures for depression prevention and control.@*Methods@#By using the method of multi-stage stratified random cluster sampling, the 32 909 students of grade 1-3 of junior middle school, senior high school and vocational high school were selected from 14 cities in Liaoning province, and were investigated with Center for Epidermiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) psychological scale.@*Results@#The depression score of middle school students in Liaoning Province was (12.66±9.53), and the incidence of depression was 19.5%. Analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis showed that the main factors influencing the occurrence of depression were grade, bullying on campus, internet addiction, being beaten and scolded by parents, drinking, gender, Leave of absence from school, smoking, serious injury and economic classification (P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#Depression of middle school students in Liaoning Province is not optimistic. Effective prevention and control measures should be developed and implemented to the occurrence of adverse factors, so as to reduce the occurrence of depression symptoms.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the clinical effect of modified three minimally invasive blepharoplasty of double-fixation method.@*Methods@#From April 2015 to December 2016, 82 patients were included, all received minimally invasive blepharoplasty. Three 3 mm-long small incision (at medial, middle and lateral) were designed, then part of the orbicularis oculi muscle and pretarsal fat were removed. Pretarsal fascia was then sutured with orbicularis oculi muscle and skin with two-layer-suture to form double eyelid respectively.@*Results@#With up to 18 months follow-up, all patients had short period of detumescence within 7-12 days, high satisfaction rate with long lasting and natural double eyelid shape were achieved, no obvious scarring was noted.@*Conclusions@#Modified three minimally invasive blepharoplasty of double-fixation method has presented the merits of accurate presentation, natural shape, quicker recovery and less trauma, which makes it worthy of clinical presentation.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the application of expanded distant skin flaps for the facial and cervical deformities.

METHODS96 patients with facial and cervical deformities who underwent reconstructive surgery with expanded distant skin flaps were retrospectively reviewed and followed up.

RESULTSGood results were achieved in 95 cases. Necrosis happened in the distal end of one flap. The patients were followed up for 1-8 years with good cosmetic results, such as well-matched flap texture and color.

CONCLUSIONThe expanded distant skin flap is suitable and reliable for facial and cervical deformities.

ABSTRACT

Heteroclitin D (H.D) was successfully isolated from Kadsurae Caulis by using flash chromatography and recrystallized by methanol, 10.2 mg of H.D was obtained from 4.86 g of crude extract, and the purity determined by HPLC was 99.4%. The structure was identified by UV, IR, MS, and NMR analysis. The fast, simple and efficient method can be applied to the preparation of reference substance of H. D.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the corrosion fatigue strength of laser-welded specimens fabricated from commercially pure titanium (TA2) and titanium alloy(TC4). Methods:TA2 and TC4 were mechanically processed into a certain size and joined by laser welding. A fatigue testing machine was used to test tensile load and fatigue strength after soaked in synthetic saliva. The fatigue fracture surface was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results: The fatigue strengths of the laser-welded test specimens showed no significant differences compared to specimens in air. SEM examination showed that there were no defects such as corrosion pits. Conclusion: There are no significant differences between either laser-welded metal in the corrosion fatigue strength for dry specimens and specimens in synthetic saliva.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo detect DNA and chromosomes instabilities during the progression of tumors and screen new molecular markers coupled to putative or unknown oncogenes and/or tumor suppressor genes.

METHODSFive kinds of tumors, in a total of 128 specimens, were analyzed by random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) PCR. Bands representing instabilities were recovered, purified, and cloned, labeled as probes for Southern and Northern blot analysis and DNA sequencing.

RESULTSSample 5 and 3 of the gastric cancer tissues showed the highest genomic changes and the average detectability in five cancers was up to at least 40% (42.2% - 49.4%). There were significant differences in the ability of each primer to detect genomic instability, which ranged from 27% (primer 8) to 68% (primer 2). Band B is a single copy fragment, and was found to be an allelic loss in gastric and colon cancers. It is a novel sequence and was registered in GenBank with Accession Number AF151005. Further analysis revealed that it might be part of a cis-regulatory element of a new tumor suppressor gene, containing a promoter of cis-action "CACA" box, an enhancer of "GATA" family and a start codon.

CONCLUSIONSIt was impossible or difficult to get great achievements for cancer treatments with the procedure of gene therapy only to one oncogene or one tumor suppressor gene because the extensive DNA variations occurred during the progression of tumor. RAPD assay connected with other techniques was a good tool for the detection of genomic instabilities and direct screening of some new molecular markers related to tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes.
