ABSTRACT
A relação entre desenvolvimento social, aumento da longevidade e tempo histórico constitui o nosso objecto da análise. Alongamento da vida adulta, novos riscos sociais e consequente necessidade de adaptação das políticas sociais, num tempo histórico de profunda mudança, orienta a reflexão sobre o futuro e o papel de diferentes actores sociais na construção do direito a envelhecer com dignidade e segurança, laço que une as diferentes gerações.
The relationship between social development, longevity increase and historical time is our object of analysis. Stretching adulthood, new social risks and the consequent need to adapt social policies in a historic time of profound change, guides the reflection on the future and role of different social actors in building the right to age with dignity and security, which is a link that unites different generations.
La relation entre développement social, longévité croissante et temps historique, constitue l'objet de notre analyse. L'allongement de la vie adulte, les nouveaux risques sociaux en considérant le besoin d'adaptation des politiques sociales en temps de profond changement social, oriente notre réflexion sur le future et sur le rôle des différents acteurs sociaux dans la construction du droit à vieillir en dignité et sécurité, lien qui unit les différentes générations.

Este artigo procura trazer um novo olhar à análise do envelhecimento, dando ênfase à componente oportunidade-conquista das sociedades contemporâneas e desconstruindo o paradigma centrado na idade. Com base em estudos nacionais e internacionais, tem como objetivo contribuir para a análise dos modelos de transição atividade profissional/reforma, relevando diferentes fatores que influenciam e diferenciam esses processos. A importância das políticas de envelhecimento ativo são tratadas numa óptica de promoção de igualdade de oportunidades, incluindo as pessoas em situação de maio dificuldade. A garantia do direito a envelhecer com dignidade e segurança constitui um outro eixo de análise, enquadrado nas recomendações e orientações internacionais nesse âmbito, sendo dada especial relevância às questões da formação e do habitat.
This paper revisits the analysis of aging, emphasizing the component of opportunity/achievement of contemporary societies and deconstructing the age centered paradigm. Based on national and international studies, it aims to contribute to the analysis of the professional activity/reform transition models, revealing different factors that influence and distinguish these processes. The importance of the policies for active aging is approached according to the view that supports the promotion of equal opportunities, including people in disadvantaged situations. The guarantee of the right to age with dignity and security is another axis of analysis, framed within the international recommendations and instructions in this area. Special relevance is given to the issues of formation and habitat.
