ABSTRACT

The chemical composition of serum of 30 pregnant and 15 nonpregnant mares were subjected to determine the SGOT, SGPT, alkaline phosphatase, total proteins, total bilirubin, creatinine. Uric acid, blood urea nitrogen, glucose, cholesterol, phosphorus and calcium parameters. The results of the chemical analysis are shown. Highly significant differences for the activities of SGOT, alkaline phosphatase, uric acid, blood urea nitrogen, cholesterol and calcium were recorded between pregnant and nonpregnant mares. Total bilirubin and phosphorus were low significant at [P <0.05], while the activities of clucos and creatinine were nonsignificant

ABSTRACT

Thirty-four infertile dairy Friesian cows suffering from ovarian cysts [30 cases with thin walled cysts and 4 cases with thick walled cysts] were used in this study. The animals were treated by a single i.v. dose of a vial Nymphalon [mixture of freeze-dried material containing chorionic gonadotrophin 3000 IU and progesterone 125 mg]. The percentage of responded animals in nymphomanc, irregular estrous and anestrous groups were 85.7%, 66.6% and 50%, respectively. The pregnancy rates were 77%, 83% and 50% in the three mentioned groups

ABSTRACT

Examination of the ovaries of 224 nonpregnant buffalo cows revealed that 171 [76.33%] specimens have active ovaries, 30 [13.39%] cases showed ovarian inactivity, while cystic ovaries was observed in 11 [4.9%] specimens, 4 [1.79%] specimens have ovarian teratomas and 8 [3.56%] showed ovaro-dursal adhesions

ABSTRACT

The biometrical and histomorphological studies of the Owasi ewe's cervix revealed that the length, diameter and weight ranged 5.2-6.7 cm, 0.9-2.1 cm and 6.3-13 g, respectively. The cervical mucosa has two types of folds, longitudinal and transverse folds, 2-5 in number. The cervical mucus varies in amount and color in different phases of the estrous cycle. The cervical mucosa is arranged into primary and secondary folds. The lumen is lined with simple columnar epithelium during the estrous cycle

ABSTRACT

The oviducts of 52 slaughtered Iraqi ewes were described macroscopically and microscopically during the different phases of the estrous cycle. The biometry and morphology were presented. The histological findings were also illustrated

ABSTRACT

The average length of the right and left uterine horns was 17.203 +/- 0.238 cm and 17.756 +/- 0.248 cm, respectively. The average diameter of left and right uterine horns was 1.348 +/- 0.22 cm and 1.346 +/- 0.04 cm, respectively. The thickness of the left uterine horn was recorded 0.241 +/- 0.013 cm and 0.241 +/- 0.009 cm in the right horn. There were significant cyclic [P <0.01] changes in the diameter and thickness of the uterine horns. The average weight of the uterus was 34.232 +/- 1.075 g. The cyclical changes in the uterine weight was proved to be significant [P <0.01]. The number of caruncles in the left horn was 45 +/- 0.013, while in the right one it was 45 +/- 0.875. The mucosal color of the endometrium depended on the stages of the estrous cycle
