Concepções dos acadêmicos de enfermagem sobre prevenção e tratamento de úlceras de pressão / Conceptions of nursing academics on the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers

O acadêmico de enfermagem é co-responsável pela implementação de medidas profiláticas e de tratamento das úlceras de pressão. Para isso, no entanto, precisa de conhecimento prévio sobre o processo de formação e desenvolvimento das úlceras de pressão (UP). Com base nessas afirmações, o presente artigo tem como objetivos apreender e delinear as práticas de prevenão e tratamento das UP sob a perspectiva dos acadêmicos do último semestre do curso de enfermagem de uma universidade pública situada em Salvador/Ba e comparar os achados com a literatura científica referente à temática. Trata-se de um estudo tipo survey, realizado no período compreendido entre maio e junho de 2006. Os resultados revelaram que os acadêmicos possuem conhecimentos a cerca das UP em consonância com a literatura científica.

The nursing academic is co-responsible for the implementation of prophylactic measures, and for the treatment of pressure ulcers. For this, however, previous knowledge about the process of formation and development of the pressure ulcers (UP) is needed. Based on these affirmations, the objectives of the present article are to understand and delineate the procedures of prevention and the treatment of the UP, from the perspective of academics in the last semester of the nursing program at a public university in the city of Salvador, Ba; and to compare the findings with scientific literature references on the subject. This is a survey-type study, carried out between May and June 2006. The results revealed that the academics possess knowledge about UP in accord with scientific literature.

Percepções de morte e morrer na ótica de acadêmicos de enfermagem: estudo qualitativo / Perception of the death and dying of the nursing students: a qualitative study

Descriptive exploratory study of qualitative boarding directed to analyses the parameter of the children to the stress before-surgical. They were unreason as technical of collects the observation without participation and the interview with the mothers. They participated, nine children in age preschool, internal in pediatric of the philanthropic hospital in Salvador, who hoped to be put under surgery. In the Symbolic Interacionism and analyzes the contender suffering of the children ahead the restrictions and difficulties faced in the course of the stress before-surgical one through the categories: Suffering with stress before-surgical, Coming to operate without knowing the reason and coexist the stranger and the stranger. It was finished that the perception, the actions and the expressions of the children represents how it hits the surgery that is for the boy. That understanding can favor the application of actions that search the difficulties faced by the children in the before-surgical.

Este artigo objetiva compreender o significado da morte e do morrer para os acadêmicos de enfermagem no processo de cuidar. É um estudo de natureza qualitativa, realizado nas dependências de uma universidade estadual situada na cidade do Salvador/Ba, no período de fevereiro a maio de 2006. Utilizou-se a entrevista semi-estruturada como técnica para coleta de dados. O corpus foi composto por dez estudantes do curso de enfermagem de semestres variados. Os dados foram analisados com base na análise de conteúdos categorial e emergiu três categorias: Aproximando–se da morte no processo de cuidar; Tendo medo da morte e Necessitando de preparo para lidar com a morte. Concluiu-se que os acadêmicos de enfermagem estão despreparados para lidar com suas emoções e sentimentos, bem como às dos seus clientes no que tange o processo de morte e morrer.
